"Again sweeping generalizations about football fans, Cricket fans can kick off, Rugby League fans are very tribal and like a scrap go to a Wigan v St Helens game and you will be greeted with police horses and fans fighting in town."
As an Albion fan of many years now exiled in St Helens I have...
Hmm....I just always get the impression he's looking for an argument whenever he's on a panel and that seems takes precedence over anything else when he says something.
I think we just have to accept that Southgate - for whatever reason - won't pick Dunk and we have to get over it. It is annoying that he seems to prefer obviously inferior defenders (I don't include Ben in that category) and occasionally Dunk does something...err...inadvisable (Palace away...
Always wanted to play but imho opinion there are several barriers. Money obvz, time but also the nature of the game. If you want to play but don't really know anyone who does, where do you start?
I finally started after my golf mad (and quite oofy) sister gave me a set of clubs when I was 50 as...
Weird, as I'm reading this thread I get a text purporting to be from HSBC saying a Mr Jones is trying to access my account and to click on a link to stop him.
Yes, you've guessed it. I have no HSBC account....
I think it's difficult to compare our situation with Man U as we were in the lower leagues and hadn't got a pot to p!ss in, and whilst I know Man U are saddled with debt they seem to have a lot of cash to throw about.
I mean it wasn't EASY for us to get rid of Archer/Bellotti - by any means -...
Over the years (52 in my case) we've had some rubbish seasons and poor squads and any sort of result was a cause for celebration (The Gillingham years the most obvious example). This is far more frustrating because the level of expectation is much higher.
I acknowledge he may not be any better than what we are currently using, but he'd be different and he may not yet have caught the Cowsarsebanjo virus which appears to have infected most of the squad!
Is this that it or is it likely to be called in by the Govt for a Public Inquiry?
EDIT!!
Read the link Screaming J (sorry!) :-
"The £500m scheme which it's claimed will create 15,000 jobs will now go to the government for the final say."
Had the Pfizer yesterday at St Helens RL ground. Really well organised and just a good vibe about the whole thing. I guess it's because even though everyone who is working there must be a bit pooped they know how much of a benefit it is and everyone going in to be 'done' is so supportive. There...
Well.....that first game of the season at Crewe where we won for the first time in goodness knows how long with a late Nicky Forster winner was a good memory. Had high hopes of the season after that one.....didn't last long as per usual :)
Tut, Dr M; read my post carefully! I said I was prepared to cut Wetherspoons some slack. I deliberately did not include Martin T in that, as I suspect Son of Screaming J has not crossed his radar screen!
Always English Mustard for me.
Put it on any cooked meat. Also corned beef and mustard sandwiches.
Also add a bit to the potato that goes on top of shepherds/cottage pie just before I mash it up.
And a bit of mustard powder sprinkled over your par boiled spuds just before they go in the oven...
I'm very fence about Wetherspoons. I agree with a lot of the criticism on here about them; but they are very pro real ale, and the local one in St Helens took a punt on my son who is on the autistic spectrum and have given him paid employment 1 day a week for nearly 10 years now despite his...
