Huddersfield Town vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

The ball is falling to them every time. We've had a lot of luck this season, but not tonight.

Defence asleep and absolutely no midfield. Looking an average team. Now Dunk is booked. This is a shit night.

Brighton, Strikers and Moneyball - a hypothesis

Alan Mullery was a notable underachiever. Not sure if that was with us when we gave a load of players massive pay rises on 10 years contracts, or elsewhere.

Brighton, Strikers and Moneyball - a hypothesis

I've read Tony Bloom's company Starlizard has a fantastic database on players, so I'm sure it is used to moneyball players. Maybe it has been refined from when we first tried it.

Brighton, Strikers and Moneyball - a hypothesis

I may be wrong, but didn't we dabble in it with David Burke? There must be some reason why we bought such average footballers!

Brighton, Strikers and Moneyball - a hypothesis

Additionally, the book states in the professional games you don't win games by having the best player on the pitch (park football always tends to be this way) but you are more likely to lose games by having the weakest player on the pitch. So yes, lack of big signings but having strength all...

    Lee Hurst

“You can always make someone talk … The problem is what they say,” one of Saddam Hussein’s former torturers said when he was interviewed in a Kurdish jail in 2003. and that's the problem with torture. The information received can not be relied upon to be correct.

Torture is not a truth serum. Torture doesn't work because the person being tortured will make things up to stop the pain.

    Dunk's deliberate yellow card

He missed one league games instead of two. So yes, it was the right decision.

    Brighton on Football Focus

No need to be diplomatic, it's his home-town club. Some people are far too easily offended.
