This is an interesting read. The rivalry is IMO more Brighton against palace as there were many many years Charlton were seen as the local rivalry by folks in there 40s now, I am late 50s so look at Brighton as rivals but TBH I am all a little meh with hating a team and fans that I live locally...

I will thanks. When mum and dad got married they lived in manor road south Norwood. As a kid I saw the lights glow at Selhurst park at night, and in 1972 they took me to see my first game even though they had no intrest in football. That’s why we all love our clubs.

No I can’t say it really bothers me that TBH. But looking there are many many years we did not play each other because palace were in higher divisions.

That’s an interesting question so I googled it, never in the top league , but what was quite interesting and I could be wrong but we have only played each other 14 times in the top league.

TBF he scored 17 goals in his first season to help palace stay up. He plays a different role these days of holding the ball up and bringing other players in to the game. I can’t say his a success but that beautiful goal in the 90 th minute at the AMEX will stay in the memory 😁
