I think it's telling that almost all of those tackles are pre-2010. Football has generally moved on from really spiteful tackles, which it why Holgate's was so surprising. It's SO bad it looks like it's straight out of the Vinny Jones "90's book of horror tackles"
I really like it as a show and it's great to see how my 9-year-old loves it too, but Clattenberg is dreadful. He's got absolutely no charisma when he does his little interviews and seems to be a low quality photo-copy of the 90s ref.
The Gladiators themselves seem fun too. A good mix of nice...
All true, and it's not to say that I don't rate him as a manager because I do, but Brighton are in a very different position now. We'd sacked a solid Premier League manager off the back of an underwhelming season and took a risk on a promotion from the Championship.
We're now (at point of...
I expect that if he were to come to us, we'd have had to do our usual tricks of starting conversations with him and his representatives months ago to get a head start. I'd be surprised if we win a bidding war if we join the party late in the day. Never say never though
Moder needs time, and lots of it. I don't expect to see him at near full strength until after a full pre-season with the squad. The guy has had almost two full years out injured. Most of that time he would have literally been nowhere near kicking a football in his garden, let alone on a Premier...
You are, of course, correct but I suppose we can take comfort in the fact that for the first time in our history the group of clubs that are attractive to (and can afford) our managers is the smallest it's ever been.
No longer are our managers leaving to go to Leicester as an assistant or...
Yes, I want them relegated, but there's no chance they will be. Not this season anyway. Too many awful teams down there and the point deductions are going to save at least one dross team.
To be honest, it's just nice to be well clear of it all
Not to disagree with the wider point that he's a top player with great potential, but I see JP as Dunk's successor in terms of being captain material. Colwill is possibly a more technically gifted player, but I see JP as more of a leader.
I think that historically, we've signed dross from many, many nations (especially under David Burke) in part because we weren't very good. Now that we're a better team, have better scouts and the best data analytics systems in world football we can get better players.
Besides, our record with...
Considering their end was half empty going into the 40th minute and the silence from the north was only breached once for Mateta's goal (and barely at that given that there were only about 10 fans left), the fact that they see themselves as "the best fans in the league" really is a laugh.
When...
Although I'm minded to agree, all three are very different options:
Veltman is our best defensive RB, and probably the "big game player";
Lamptey is our most attacking RB, who's great on the assists;
Hinshelwood is probably the most all-round RB. Defensively sound, likes scoring a goal.
So as...
a) £55m (if we get that) is hardly peanuts; b) it's only considered peanuts because Chelsea spent a stupid amount on Caicedo, who only spent that amount because Rice and Fernandez went for £105m.
Arsenal - Half a coronation chicken sandwich, nice ingredients, used to be a hit a few years back. Doesn't quite finish the job
Aston Villa - Egg mayo, people say it's great but I can't warm to it
Brentford - Cheese and piccalilli - Tries to be like Brighton, but isn't quite as good
Bournemouth...
