[Politics] The 2024 US Election - *MATCH DAY*

As always, it will depend on who captures he swing voters and undecideds. Do you prefer the doddery old gentleman, who seems nice but appears forgetful and indecisive, or the bombastic loudmouth who says what you may want to hear but is only in it for himself? I actually think that many of the...

    [Albion] I love Danny Welbeck

Agree with all of that except the last part. If Welbeck is "bang average", then Murray (12 & 13 goals in two season) and Maupay (10, 8 & 8 goals in three seasons) were also bang average to decent. I'd say that we didn't wait years for Welbeck, we had two immediately preceding him.

[Politics] Lee Anderson goes full Oswald Mosely

I would say a large proportion has come from the last 13 years being dominated by a government that makes it's policy stoking up division and culture wars. It defines itself by driving a schism down the middle of the country in the name of, well, all the things you put in your earlier post. He...

[Albion] Who's the flairest of them all? 2024- NOMINATIONS THREAD

I'd like to second Anthony Knockaert. A great mix of being a) a great footballer, b) a complete wildcard on his day, c) an absolute box of flair as a winger, d) typically temperamental I'll also add in Calderon because he's so good he could even score with his face, and Jurgen Locadia because...

[Albion] Ansu Fati **Signed On Loan 01/09**

I tend to agree. It's understandably swayed by a suggested £7m loan fee and £125k per week wages though. I doubt Adingra is on those kind of numbers... In isolation though, he's a mildly inconsistent 21 year old, who was perfectly decent and improving until his injury. Since the injury, he's...

    [Albion] Evan Ferguson

It could also be that without Mitoma and March, the quality and/or style of service has changed? Adingra in the last few months doesn't really cross into the box, neither does Buonanotte and Estupinan is all over the place. Our main wingers are both cut in and shoot players or (as demonstrated...

[Albion] Was forcing Sanchez out the worst decision our club has made in years?

Not necessarily, £25m might have always been his value but fans will always want more for their 1st choice, youth-promoted, Spanish international 'keeper as opposed to a dropped, 3rd choice 'keeper with a perceived attitude problem. Just so happens that both those players are the same man

    [Albion] Leonardo Trossard

Led by money grabbing agents that just so happen to be paid by Caicedo and Cucurella specifically to make these moves happen. Don't get me wrong, agents are a stain on the game, but let's not pretend that they weren't doing exactly what Caicedo and Cucurella were paying them to do. Caicedo...

If Steele starts tomorrow, he'll have my full support, simple as.

[Albion] Was forcing Sanchez out the worst decision our club has made in years?

It's also worth adding that, although in the end we were happy getting £25m for Sanchez, there was a time during the previous summer that people on here were sniffing at getting "only £40m" for him

[Albion] Was forcing Sanchez out the worst decision our club has made in years?

This was the key thing for me, he had the ability to go really far (and he's had a pretty decent career already) but it's his lack of concentration that always worried me. He could make 5 or 6 superb saves and then chuck one in under no pressure just because he seemingly wasn't paying attention.

[Politics] Lee Anderson goes full Oswald Mosely

He's a deeply challenged individual that tapped into a very specific, imagined threat in the minds of his constituents. When pushed on ANY subject he just turns into "loud, shouty man" because he's either a) not smart enough, or b) doesn't care enough to work out a proper answer. That said...

Pascal Gross may have something to day about that, but yes, him coming on was exactly what we needed to settle down the side

[Albion] Ansu Fati **Signed On Loan 01/09**

This is a very fair point to make. Yes, he does look extremely lightweight and lacking in confidence, but look at Estupinan too. He looks miles off the pace at the moment and RDZ said last week that recovering from a serious muscle injury has taken more of an impact than expected in his recovery...

[Albion] That was a red wasn’t it?

Surely there's a point in any tackle when it becomes "an unavoidable coming together"? Seems like another line that's drawn subjectively based on whomever is refereeing on that day.

[Football] Reading training ground up for sale...

We really going to say Reading were "asset stripping" Brighton because 20 years ago we let our manager join them and they bought Sidwell from Arsenal (not us) and Ingimarsson from Wolves (not us) because we couldn't afford them? It annoyed me at the time too, but saying Reading were "asset...

[Albion] That was a red wasn’t it?

I think it's because it's still seemingly used by referees too. Just look at Doku on Mac Allister. Doku touches the ball slightly (and I mean slightly) and kicks Mac Allister in the midriff with his follow-through. A clear foul not given because "he got the ball" That said, I agree with your...

    [Albion] Jakub Moder

No, true enough. More that it was real turning point in a match that we really should have won (and probably would have had the red not occurred)
