I don't agree - I think a significant portion of Reform votes will be working class people who traditionally vote Labour, but are pro-brexit and anti immigration. Having voted Tory in 2019 for these reasons plus Corbyn, they are now voting Reform.
Under their current guise I agree, they're a "party" (business) full of looneys and racists and will only attract voters in that category. But if they smartened up a bit, took over the right of the Tories, while campaigning heavily on immigration - and I hate to say it, but with Farage* as a...
I'm not so sure. If the Tories do get well and truly wiped out, and Reform get a foot in the door, I worry that they'll become a viable option for many more voters in future. The immigration issue is not going away and will likely get worse in the next 10 years or so, as climate change and war...
Starmer being too respectful, letting Sunak shout over him without doing the same back. His points are getting drowned out.
The ref is appalling, lost control in the first minute and not getting it back.
I genuinely believe that it was as Barber described in his interview - an amicable, mutual parting of ways due to an unresolvable difference in opinion on how to move forwards. TB/PB would've liked RDZ to stay, and RDZ would have liked to have stayed, but they couldn't get over that disagreement...
Ruined his reputation with the fans, yes. But everything I've seen from the club (Barber) and players suggests that they still have a good relationship with Potter and Bruno, and didn't have an issue with them leaving to Chelsea.
I think Bloom and Barber would, on a personal and professional...
I'm sure he would do a good job in the long term, if given a chance. But if results didn't start coming fairly quickly, fans would jump on him, far quicker than a new coach. Whoever the coach is, I think next year will need some rebuilding and we might need patience. For that reason, I think it...
Ha, ok. Do you think any of Mitoma, March, Adingra, Buonanotte, Enciso would be used as an impact sub for the majority of a season for any Championship team?
If he was good enough to contribute to a team aiming for Europe (as we were), he should be one of the first names on the team sheet at Championship level, regardless of tactics.
There'll never be a better opportunity for a Gross turn on the keeper 😞
Best half we've played in weeks though, we actually look like scoring might be a possibility. Confused by the negativity on here (albeit by the usual suspects), we're getting the ball forward much quicker than in recent...
A number of things combined. But we also have to be conscious that even if we continue to improve over the next 5-10 years, there will be more seasons like this, progress in football is not linear. But we will be back in Europe in that timeframe, I'm confident of that.
Just let that settle in for a second. You'd rather we had one season in Europe next season (which could end in the group stage) and make a £100m loss, than be in the position we are?
Are you a Pompey fan?
Yep, he introduced a new style of playing in the PL that even made (probably)the best manager in the world for the best team in the world adapt their style.
So let's give him a chance to come up with something over the summer to give us that edge again, and give him the players to do it.
RDZ got us into the Europa League playing fantastic football. The way players and other managers talk about him, he's clearly not just fluked it last year, he's an excellent coach.
Yes the last few months have been pretty dire, and yes it's very frustrating that we're not qualifying for Europe...
I was trying to work this out - around the time Murray was here, I guess it could have been:
- Bissouma
- Locadia
- Bernardo
- Jahanbakhsh
Unless he means some of the younger players we brought in who never made it into the first team like Baluta?
