It's very silly to read too much into less than a half of football... But I'll do it anyway:
Apart from the goal, he looked more than comfortable at this level and already fit in well with the system and his team mates. Very impressive and I'm quite excited to see more of him
When you're up against one of the fastest players in the league, and a team who keeps the ball, it makes sense to be more cautious on when to attack Vs keep possession.
I honestly think he's in the top 5 wingers in the league. We're so lucky to have him during his prime
Was going to say the same - I'd be very hesitant to join a company in that position. A few months of bad performance and you'd be the first to be made redundant.
In the same vein, would you scrap goal line technology as well, to preserve the Hurst 'goal' and others like it? And to preserve 'big moments' like Lampard's goal that wasn't given in 2010?
Not sure I would've used Maradona's hand of god - one of the most famous injustices in football history - as evidence that VAR should be scrapped.
Also Geoff Hurst's goal that wasn't. Although that would have been ruled out by goal line technology these days anyway.
Thought he was absolutely brilliant today. The only standout player in the first half, and was great in the second. Those outside-of-the-boot crosses are ridiculous
It's almost like a new manager in a new league, with lots of new signings, might need some time to get it right.
Lets cut him some slack FFS. Comparisons with Hyypia and other comments on the matchday thread in the first half were embarrassing at the time, and just look silly now.
Probably because he's right footed.
Surprised by some comments here, I thought he did fine and showed promise of the quality he has. Yes there was that once miscontrol, but then he ran back the length of the pitch and did enough to stop their man getting a decent shot off. Made up for it.
Isn't that what winning the league should be though - fans of the club going on about it, because it actually means something? Even if they are plastics, and it's tiresome for the rest of us.
It concerns me more that a club winning the title barely causes a ripple, that's not good for English...
Really interesting episode with Tony Bloom on this week. Key takeaways for me:
Tony is significantly involved in every men's team transfer, and to a degree in every u21 transfer
Our spending this summer will not become normal. We've seen an opportunity, both with our profits last year and...
I don't think anyone on here is writing off Minteh, actually the comments have been quite measured. Just recognition that he wasn't at his best today - which is fine as a 20 year old, he's still learning and will be inconsistent.
But as a team aiming for Europe, we need the best option on the...
