I agree with all of this.
Especially Kurt Vonnegut reading.
I love his piece about not knowing what is the good news and what is the bad news in life. You can never tell until a situation plays all the way out. And that when he gets to the pearly gates the first thing he’s going to ask is...
Ha! People still think you’d come onto a political thread on NSC and get a sensible political debate?
It’s all part of the cut and thrust. As long as it doesn’t get personal, I’d say either get stuck in or avoid at all costs 🤣
Both sides bogged down in trench and urban warfare. Moving a few miles each way here and there.
Ukraine desperately pushing for long rage permission to break the stalemate before Putin gets frustrated and goes from ballistic to nuclear.
Helikon make some great stuff. Suppliers to the Polish military, this stuff is used regularly on Arctic expeditions and by Arctic researchers. Obviously the fleeces etc.
They also do great waterproof jackets and outer shells.
They do a lot of stuff very well indeed.

Recently purchased new HH trail runners. First time I’ve bought their footwear.
Look solid and come recommended but they are a bugger to get on as they have a tighter foot-hole than most trainers. A bit painful to get on first time.
Ha!
I got it years ago. It was actullay one of the cheaper Barbour jackets as it didn’t really sell very well at all.
Then Bond wore it in Skyfall.
I paid £100 for it. Now it goes for £400 - £600.
*smug grin*
It doesn’t get worn that often though. Most days I wear my much cheaper Game wax...
I love a wax jacket. My latest one has a hood but I ha done before that didn’t.
I got a hood with poppers online and took it to a seamstress who married the two.
