I managed a parkrun without a child in tow today... and got a season's best 20:11, AG 70.77%. Lose a few pounds and sub-20 is definitely in reach!

Sounds about right. I'm guessing it would be 63/64 season, as Dad would have left school and started working in Brighton by then.

Understandably so, and lessons were learned from both those incidents and the more recent one at Fukushima. However it is possible to use other elements as a fuel starting point where cooling the reactor quickly is less problematic in an emergency than it was in all three of those incidents.

On my part? I'm genuinely interested as it happens. I think nuclear power has a lot of unnecessary stigma around it because of its historical association with, you know, bombs. Bit you don't need to have fields of solar panels, or to endanger the bird population with it, and that nasty...

I wonder what these people would think of a programme of building nuclear power stations as a cleaner solution to electricity generation?
