  1. Curious Orange

    Official Running Thread

Yes, Littlest Orange is quite keen, and sometimes runs the adult one too.
  2. Curious Orange

    Official Running Thread

After many years I finally stand on the precipice. Today was parkrun #99, a sluggish 21 minute something with a noticeable twinge in one ankle and a limping walk home. I shall have to drag the whole Orange family out for the next parkrun :D

[Technology] Using an immersion heater instead of a gas boiler for heating water?

Converting to a megaflow type heating system means you can do away with electrically powered showers altogether as you get mains pressure out of the shower anyway. Pressurised water tanks retain heat better than a convential hot water tank too. I think if you want to use the immersion heater...

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

I'm pretty sure that Strax, the fictional alien, would be a more believable and trustworthy Prime Minister than Boris Johnson...

That is much more intense than the goalie training Junior Orange does!

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

More importantly, control of Snake Island by Ukraine should be able to open up the blockade of shipping from Odesa.

    Trump

Yesterday's hearing was interesting in that it is now clear that President Trump was very well aware that his supporters were armed before he made his speech on January 6th. He knew he was sending armed people to the Capitol.

[Politics] US Supreme Court overturns Roe v Wade

The real tragedy is that some of the laws being introduced at state level don't allow for medical exceptions. This won't protect unborn babies or their mothers. For example I know of a case where a couple were expecting twins and they had to make the heartbreaking decision to have one of them...

[Albion] Rolls Royce to Robin Reliant

I saw him score! ... and I saw him score too! There can't be many people who saw both of those players score?

The pool has been put up in the back garden of Chateau Orange, chiefly for Littlest to ride her inflatable rainbow unicorn, but it is also excellent for dunking tired legs in after a slow hilly 10k on a hot day.

[Politics] Should England go it alone?

They stopped voting Labour, the top jobs in the last Labour government were entirely populated by Scots!

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

That is interesting given she got her seat off the back of predecessor (Anne Milton) getting booted out for having principles.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

"Safe seat" is a nonsense, as proved by Labour's demise in Scotland and the 'Red Wall' seats. Even Guildford has been know to not vote Tory on occasion. Given the right circumstances voters do vote for the person or policy(s) rather than the party.

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Strictly speaking both the predecessor companies went into administration once each, and no-longer exist.

I got a photo card season ticket for Junior Orange, and as my phone doesn't have NFC I just use the QR code on the pass in Google Pay for entry on mine.
