For 50+ years I've dreamt of playing in Europe. Yes, we've had the odd 'one off' games or spells to remember. 1979 at Newcastle (OK I don't remember much about that weekend). But 2023/24 will go down as the greatest season ever for me as a supporter.
More technical rather than the incompetence of the ref v Chelsea.
A foul is commited but unseen by either the ref, lino or 4th official, despite being right in front of all three. Simultaneously a substitution is being made and, by chance, the player who commited the foul is taken off, he was...
East Upper we had a few. Huge guy 2 seats from me, would give Tyson a good go on Saturday. Sat all match on his hands. Still annoying when trying to sing and all around are saying nothing. Had a paper ticket, wonder from whom?
So TNT have the Arsenal game, wow. I wonder how they arranged that. Deal must have been second pick on last day. Sky have the City game, I wonder if they can cross to Arsenal and show any goals as they normally would? Still not bothered as my eyes are on the United thrashing at the end of season...
I used to keep all the Albion features from The Argus in the late 70' early 80's along with copies of Sounds (music paper). I think they are boxed up in the loft somewhere unless the mice have got to them. Maybe dig them all out soon.
For those interested, I've every copy of a mag caled DJ &...
No, not a real story and hopefully it won't happen. But I bet Sky have looked into it.
These two games have no other meaning in the league other than positions. It would have been nice to watch in the concourse pre United, instead I'll depend on others giving me updates.
Agree with England Spain, also with my Granddaughter & Daughter.
The SA v Japan rugby was loud.
But personally Man City in lockdown. Lucky to be there, lost my mind, lost my voice, on the phone to my mum as that winning goal went in. That is my best game.
From there the list is endless with...
I mentioned this on the Crawley thread.
BBC Radio commentator turned up for the postponed match last week. Parked up and went into the stadium. Couldn't work out why no one there.
True story he admitted to live next day.
I'm interested. Never had time before so I'll look into this.
Waverley was featured on the https://www.channel5.com/show/the-big-steam-adventure/season-2
As a side, the Waverley is now run by diesel rather than steam.
Really? As it stands only top 6 get into Europe should Man Utd win the FA Cup.
When Man Utd lose the FA Cup then top 7 qualify.
As it stands (Monday afternoon)
6th Newcastle +22 - 57
7th Chelsea +12 - 57
8th Man Utd -4 - 54
Imagine Man Utd plans would be wrecked regarding any spending if they...
Are you saying these would be an extra '39th' game? If so that would favour the top teams who get to play lower teams whilst Brighton get a mid table team.
If this is included in the fixtures, ie NOT a 39th game, then the lower teams get to miss out on a visit to a top ground.
PS Do you think...
Only a matter of time before the Charity Shield is moved. Let's face it, the teams involved are all away on tours anyway so why not just play that game in Saudi or China or USA two weeks ahead of season start.
As mentioned, the Spanish Super Cup is already played overseas but as a tournament...
I've taken Everton and, dare I say it, Palace (twice) fans to sit next to me. I do introduce them to those around me and my friends understand the rules, no celebrating.
But you're right, I can't give my ticket to an Albion fan for a game but I know of a Man Utd guy who has purchased Albion+...
Really, are you sure?
They can do this as there will be NO EPL games played at 3pm. So it's going the other way in that we may never see a Saturday 3pm KO next season.
At what time Thursday, or even Wednesday evening, does the 'I sat next to a Chelsea fan' thread start.
I had Man City fans in front of me recently and they sat very still. Wasn't until one guy turned on his phone and I saw the Man City crest as his home page I knew. Well behaved they stayed all...
Starting in August, it will have 100 feeds, all on t'internet I guess.
EFL ifollow to shut down as Sky will show every EFL club at least 20 times a seaon.
It's too early in the day to do any sums but that would mean half of each clubs games on TV, but the 3pm blackout still is in force. So how...
