    [Brighton] Sussex Police

Probably referring to the shambolic ‘one way system’ upon leaving the ground. Evidently it was the club’s idea and not the Police? I have to agree though. What’s the point of keeping palace in the ground for 25 mins if we couldn’t turn left out of the West Stand? By the time the convergence...

Be My Baby and Sleigh Ride - simply stunning. RIP Ronnie x

    [Albion] Hillsborough Law.

Yes The Wednesday club safety officer and secretary Graham Mackrell is to date the ONLY person convicted of an offence. He got fined a mere £6500

Additionally, the biggest eye opener for me was how much of a slope there is on the road where he got shot.

Agreed. Just about to start part 4 and it’s riveting viewing. I’ve been to Dealey Plaza, grassy knoll etc and the sixth floor museum. The tour is overwhelmingly tearjerking.

    [Albion] Goldstone 25

You are absolutely right. Just checked and Macca’s was the equaliser. I remember the ref was giving everything to Bournemouth, but he went off injured and the game changed massively in our favour.
  7. Jam The Man

    [Albion] Goldstone 25

It was definitely an afternoon on a Saturday (15th January 1994), but it wasn’t sunny!

    [Albion] Goldstone 25

We were actually 1-0 up before capitulating and eventually redeeming. I’ve got it on dvd somewhere for certain
  9. Jam The Man

    [Albion] Goldstone 25

1-3 down with about 5 mins left. Paul McCarthy (RIP) pulled one back before Chappers scored his rocket. It was one of Liam Brady’s first matches and we had quite a few belting matches in that period with late, late goals. Games against Cambridge (4-1) , Blackpool (3-2) and Plymouth (2-1) spring...

    [Brighton] Is Portslade any fun?

I was born in Brighton and save for the literally two weeks I lived there, and a year in Southwick, I spent the first 26 years of my life in north Portslade and loved it. It’s clearly not as nice as it used to be, but some of the negative reactions on here are IMO a bit odd… but hey-ho.

Was very moving. Can still recall watching events unfold on Grandstand all those years ago. Chilling.

That episode was on BBC4 just a few days ago coincidentally, as I noted her choice of words too.

    [Misc] Have you had Covid?

Yes. Tested positive on Dec 31st last year. Weird illness - didn’t suffer too badly and seemed to have one good day followed by one bad day for just under two weeks. Bad cough and temperature, though mainly I just felt very very tired in the afternoons. For several months after though, my...

Remember it very well. Stone me were we in serious trouble after that match…

[Albion] Why did the boos happen and/or who was targeted?

Definitely frustration. I didn’t boo and could count on one hand the amount of times I have in 700+ games. Saturday’s performance certainly didn’t deserve it, but if I had one criticism of the events of late it would be of Potter’s dicking about re Maupay. He has been in relatively decent form...

I’m not so sure it’s in equal measure. I suspect an overwhelming majority favour The Beatles?

    [Albion] Newcastle Fans

As I left the ground last night with my son, a Newcastle fan ran up to us and shoved his finger about a foot from my face and screamed: “Wor fookin’ goalkeepa is ah cheating’ coont!” - before running off again! …we pissed ourselves laughing
