[Football] Pet hates - fans getting football wrong

Any fan who describes a manager as being tactically naïve when the chances of their own tactical knowledge being greater than an ex professional player / manager and his associated team of advisers is zero.

[Football] Saudi consortium to take over Newcastle

Good point and that concludes the argument doesn't it? Mike Ashley was a line of sorts for many, but that line moved significantly when individuals with less morals took over but with significantly more money to spend.

[Football] Saudi consortium to take over Newcastle

Who would have to take over Newcastle United for Newcastle United fans to say enough is enough and walk away from the club? Putin, Hibatullah Akhundzada, Xi Jinping, Isaias Afwerki, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow or maybe Kim Jong-un. I presume there is some line and I am interested where it is...

[Football] Was it really £7.60 a pint at West Ham today?

I believe the council are trying to re-coup some of the losses to tax payers from the generally bad deal the tax payers got from the original stadium deal. Someone who may have been sensible has suggested that maybe West Ham could recognise this an partially off set the £7 pint with a voucher...

[Football] Saudia Arabia United Sleeve Sponsors

I only realised for the first time today, whilst watching the Middle East derby, that PIF have decided to sponsor themselves. PIF own Newcastle United and also have a significant stake in Noon.com who are their new sleeve sponsor. I am sure the Premier League and other football finance experts...

[Albion] Two free tickets for tomorrow’s game

If its a paper ticket can't you just scan the ticket and send the image by e-mail to someone who then prints and uses. Doesn't the person just need the QR code/barcode at the West Ham stadium scanner. I am speculating here. I don't know if this definitely works.

[Football] All Or Nothing- Arsenal - Amazon Prime

Could not agree more. Shouty psycho-babble to an audience with an attention span of 3 seconds. I was amazed at the drivel he comes out with and even more amazed that no one said 'this is drivel'. Although someone did take the piss out of his rub hands confidence bubble routine.

Didn't the BOE get us to where we are now via low interest rates and quantitive easing?

    [Finance] BoE Interest Rise

Higher interest rates encourage people to save which takes money out of the economy which means less spending on 'things' which means lower demand and less inflation. However, I believe that because we (the central banks) printed so much money to pay for 'stuff' during COVID, interest rate...

[Humour] Wagatha Christie: Rooney v Vardy

Just because something is worth a lot of money, doesn't mean it adds anything of value to planet Earth. If fact vast resources are consumed on something which has no tangible value.

    [Albion] Brighton's women's team - what's going on

My original point that seems to have got lost a bit, was that in my opinion, women's football is not at the level of men's football (and may take a long time to get there). There is a limited market for paying to watch live football and so I suspect the women's game will struggle to grow as a...

    [Albion] Brighton's women's team - what's going on

Having said there is no way to prove this, there still isn't. But there are a few instances of women's national teams playing u16 or u15 boys teams. The most recent I can find (which looks legitimate) is the Brazil national team (ranked top 10 in world?) lost to a Gremio (Brazil 2nd Division)...
