[Albion] Ansu Fati **Signed On Loan 01/09**

Given his age, first time in England etc it was always very likely that would need time to adapt. Providing injuries don’t affect him too much I would expect him to finish the season at full ability.

[Albion] Evan Ferguson: The making of Brighton forward who could develop into a £100m player

And Ferguson is 19! Ward was playing non-league at 19.

    [Albion] Jakub Moder

A really useful time to have quite a versatile player back.

[Albion] Evan Ferguson: The making of Brighton forward who could develop into a £100m player

Maybe the poster never saw Peter Ward play. Edit: beaten to it

[Albion] Evan Ferguson: The making of Brighton forward who could develop into a £100m player

Yesterday’s goal was quality. He made it look easier than it was. He showed so much composure to take his time and pick his spot. And he’s only 19. At 19 Murray was playing for Workington Reds, Zamora was with us in the third division and Ward was playing non-league with Burton Albion. Even...

    [Football] FA diversity code

If we had a true meritocracy then there would be diversity. Take football managers in England. Unless there is some inherent reason why white men make better managers than any other race then the lack of diversity suggests that clubs are ignoring other races and that is not a meritocracy.

[Albion] Your player of the mini-season-so-far

Young player of the season so far Adingra? 4 goals and 3 assists for a player new to the team.

[Other Sport] Ice hockey player dies after accidental neck cut

Someone on this thread who had seen a video of the incident predicted that a manslaughter charge would be made. Edit: not this thread. There must be another one

[Albion] Club stopped a Boxing Day Spurs game

How many grounds can support a game without relying heavily on people driving? Should modern stadia still be designed to be reliant on car travel?

[Albion] Potter- what’s he up to?

There was definitely something at the time that said he was not going to get the full 6 years payoff (or whatever his contract length was). I think he maybe got a year’s salary

    [Football] Jude Bellingham

McManaman had a decent stint at Madrid didn’t he? So I’m recent (not even that recent) years him and Beckham? Edit: actually Abraham and Smalling have done fine at Roma.

    [Travel] Trains tonight

Left early (I know bad), about 87 minutes from WSU. Managed to get on the 4th train which missed the last London Bridge train of the night. It was also a 3 coach train, were they all that short? Took the Gatwick Express train to Victoria where I got a train to Lewisham. Back home about 12.40...

    [Albion] Serhou Guirassy

But why would they? What advantage would they gain. The player can still choose to join the first club that met the release clause.

    [Albion] Serhou Guirassy

Once a release clause is met the club can’t stop him leaving. So no bidding war on the transfer fee. There might be a bidding war on salary.

[Albion] What's the weirdest or most wonderful Albion related story you've got to tell?

He was hammered and acting up. It wasn’t a surprise when they decided to kick him out.

    [News] Luton Airport fire

This is a link to a government commissioned paper by Arup. It explains the issue with lithium ion batteries. It is true that you can submerge a lithium ion battery that is on fire in water, pull it out an hour later and it will still burn...

    [News] Luton Airport fire

Cost and space for a tank are the most likely reasons. You’d think that for business continuity reasons of running an airport that they’d choose to sprinkler it. The guidance on car park design in relation to fire is completely out of date. It’s based on tests done in about the 1950s. Back...

    [News] Luton Airport fire

As I understand it, car fires normally start with an electrical fault, spread to the seats and plastic interiors and only once they’ve really got going is the fuel at risk of igniting. With a sprinkler system it should have operated before the fuel is involved. This will drench the surrounding...
