A strange decision by the club, and one I’m really struggling to get my head around, particularly for the paltry fee received, and particularly when Mctomminey, who had one year left on his deal, went for nearly 3x the price. It seems selling our best midfielders every summer is part of the...
We’ve moved from behind the goal in the North to West Upper and it’s just a totally different experience. You can’t really see the game in the North, or what’s going on tactically. But the atmosphere is the best in the stadium. West Upper has some atmosphere, but if you’re sitting there it’s to...
A baffling take. They played in totally different midfield positions.
Gilmour was one of the best, if not the best, players on the pitch yesterday. Milner in contrast was in no man’s land for most of the game and had one of the worst first halves I’ve seen by an Albion player in a long time...
Maybe he’s not. I didn’t realise there was such animosity there 😂
Personally I’m a big fan, just not at left back where he was exposed repeatedly yesterday.
I’m not, and never will be, his biggest fan. But he was excellent with his feet yesterday. Obviously had little to do in terms of saves (although the initial save for the first disallowed goal was superb), but he came for crosses well on a couple of occasions (which shows serious progress), and...
I appreciate the sarcasm, but there’s no point in taking the bait. I stated quite clearly that I think he’s an excellent young player, just that he played out of position and it showed. Two things can be true at once, after all 🤷♂️
Minteh was excellent without the ball today. He made mistakes in possession, but having Veltman behind him and Milner, who was very poor, inside him, meant he was often having to do so much alone on the ball.
He still created chances today, as well as putting in some great set pieces and some...
It’s a matter of opinion 🤷♂️ I’m just saying what I saw. Hinshelwood’s performance was a big problem today defensively and offensively (although, as I said, I recognise he’s out of position).
And the less said about Milner’s performance the better. If anyone genuinely watched him play football...
Didn’t he set up both of Welbeck’s second half headers with crosses?
Don’t get me wrong, first half in particular his touch was all over the place, but he grew into it.
Dalot was very impressive. If we’re to continue with the Hinshelwood experiment at LB, we could do worse than to have him watch some videos of Dalot’s performance today, considering they’re both playing on their wrong foot in that position.
I am. It was an even game that we’ve done well to win, and I’m bloody ecstatic.
But there were a couple of bad performances in there. People can kid themselves if they want though 🤷♂️
Steele 7 - good distribution. Didn’t have a save to make really, aside from the disallowed goal.
Veltman 6 - a worry. Repeatedly done on the counter. Offered little going forward.
JPVH 9 - a colossus.
Dunk 7.5 - very very good, although done a couple of times down the left covering for...
In terms of the “big clubs”, it’s a yes from me. Growing up in Sussex in the 90s, everyone I knew supported them. The level of entitlement is akin to Leeds, Villa and Chelsea fans.
There was no contact initiated by the defender…
Your issue with this seems to be based around the subjectivity of these decision.
Today was just a bad decision rectified by the referee.
If VAR isn’t used for such refereeing mistakes, then what is it used for?
