I’m sure we can beat Marseille depending on the injury situation but if we do finish second, the only team to fear would be AC Milan. If Newcastle finish 3rd in that group, can we draw them in the next round?
The club haven’t got much wrong in recent years but the summer transfer business has left us short of numbers. Only cheaper replacements for players who left were brought in when we clearly needed extra players to cope with the additional demands of this season.
I know they don’t like doing...
Ashley Young, who is on a yellow, has been clearly swearing at the referee for the last 2 minutes but no action taken. The inconsistency in this league is a joke.
You don’t have to be a professional lip reader to see players swearing at the officials in pretty much every single match so why is Dunk the first Premier League player to be sent off for this since 2011?
VAR never seems to overturn penalties so it is ridiculous that whoever was on it yesterday decided to give their one which looked a complete dive to me. The Premier League does seem to have had it in for us since De Zerbi took charg.
Absolutely. It was stupid of Dunk to do it and I’d prefer referees to consistently give out red cards for this kind of thing. However, it’s been a long time since someone was sent off for dissent and I’d be surprised if we see another one this season which makes it seem unfair.
Referees were strict at the start of the season then the clampdown seemed to die down. I remember Pickford calling the assistant referee a f****** p**** in a match on tv this season and not even getting a yellow card.
It’s the first straight red card for dissent in the Premier League since 2011 which shows how we seem to be treated differently when you consider how many players have gone mental at referees and got away with it over the past 12 years.
