Happy to disagree, but to humour me, could you to take another look at the Andone video, and compare with the Williams challenge (below)
Andone jumps in (bad), but is trying to use that action to gain control of the ball, which is why he twists around during the impact.
He executes the...
I did this to death at the time.
His goal to shot ratio and goal to minutes ratio were actually decent, whilst he was with us.
Particularly considering that most of those minutes were coming on at the end of a match to give Murray a breather, during Hughton's Uber Cautious period.
Andone's wasn't as bad as Williams'
It depends how you classify worse.
Andone's could have been very nasty, but he wasn't deliberately throwing his entire body weight straight through another player.
It was an attempt to force himself between man and ball and win the ball. Badly executed...
Agree that a lot of our responses are over the top, but equally the challenge was not "just one of those things".
That type of challenge is regularly referred to as a "potential leg breaker" . because frankly it was.
mis-timed, deliberate or just putting down a marker, however you want to...
But that's because this is a football forum.
The stuff I shout out at a game, doesn't bear any relation to reasoned argument and is ALWAYS disproportionate to my true feelings on whatever, I am reacting to.
Williams was clearly "putting down a marker" and massively overdid it. Probably...
Yeah I agree with this.
It was a bad challenge (they happen), The ref should have sent him off , but that wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome of the game.
But..
Our fans do have the right to be pissed off that we are deprived of a new signing, for the next few months, because...
Ref was about 10 yards away and looking straight at it, no obstructions.
Incredible he didn't think it warranted any sanction at all, particularly when considering the cards he dished out for Sarmiento and Yari.
He's great, I love him and don't want him to go, but he's never going to generate much interest in the market .
Nice tidy player, with little to no goal involvements.
He is likely to always be losing his place to midfielders, with a bit extra physically, or in the final third.
Over the past 2 or 3 seasons, I have taken to walking back to the station after games.
I just can't be arsed with queueing any more, and frankly, I need the exercise.
If you can spare the time, I would recommend it.
I managed to get on a Train back to east croydon at 23:25.
The Gatwick Express was stopping at all stations, via Redhill - took forever, but better than rail replacement bus, any day of the week.
Thameslink was pretty screwed up yesterday. I think there were 2 or 3 cancellations for the journey back.,
I had to take the Gatwick Express (it wasn't) back to East Croydon
I didn't say that Dunk shouldn't be playing.
But purely on form Webster is playing better.
He was superb, when he came on for Dunk at Everton.
Hopefully he's happy enough with the stand in role.
