[Brighton] Big fire at Blatchington Mill school

I recalled B Mill was a merger of HCGSB, the Nevill and the Knoll. I was there during the chaotic years. Hove Park was the old Grammar school for girls, not sure if it merged with anyone or not but assume it must have done. I used to play tennis there on the grass courts, I imagine they have...

[Brighton] Big fire at Blatchington Mill school

Blatchington Mill definitely did have a 6th form then, either that or I just imagined those 2 years!

[Brighton] Big fire at Blatchington Mill school

Maybe that’s another mural to the one I’m thinking of on the stairs by the main entrance to the old Grammar school building, which was definitely painted over in the 80s.

[Brighton] Big fire at Blatchington Mill school

It definitely looks like the old Nevill buildings to me. They always looked a bit like an Eastern European architect’s dream to me, the Hove Grammar buildings were a much nicer design from a previous era. I was there at the time it merged to become Blatchington Mill. The buildings were...

I remember buying those sock tags that Leeds wore from Gamleys, was very tempted by a random Bournemouth shirt also on sale but my pocket money wouldn’t stretch that far.

Now you’re talking. They have tried to revive it but I’ve seen the modern remake and it’s not a patch on the original, that was grrrrreat!!

[Football] Subbuteo, What team you have in the opening box ?

The scoreboard was great but otherwise I wasn’t impressed with Subbuteo cricket or rugby. Never owned them, though, just knew others who did.

If you had a Palace team, to keep it current didn’t you have to change the colours wildly from year to year? Their kit changes in the 70s were mental!

I’m getting the impression this experience was a major part of your growing up and still hurts!

Now I’d be miffed if I were a Burnley fan and found myself not worthy of a mention and below even Addis Ababa Athletic!

[Brighton] Abandoned areas of the King Alfred

When I was at my primary school we had our swimming galas there. My job for the evening was to look after the guest of honour, none other than Tony Grieg! He called me over mid way though and in his Saffa twang asked me to get himself and Mrs an ice cream. I had to jump the queue to get them...

I also had the red and blue teams, added loads to them over the years and then thought I’m too old for this and sold the lot for peanuts to Toys and Togs in Boundary Road! Which I now regret of course. I had one floodlight, made things a bit challenging, and used to make the grandstands out of...

[News] WW3 anyone know the kick off date and time yet ?

Allegedly they will need significantly more capability to mount an amphibious assault than they have now, so they will doubtless be working on that as we speak funded by the income from selling fake Europa League shirts to unsuspecting Westerners…..

[News] WW3 anyone know the kick off date and time yet ?

I reckon our first volunteers or call ups will be those who have already shown bravery in the face of hostile opposition - so if you’ve luzzed a chair on one of our Europa League trips or even a carpet/rug at Brighton Station you are just the sort of person that’s needed to face down these tyrants.
