Been a veggie for about five years, I eat dairy and a little bit of fish… never been leaner, fitter, faster and more energised.
It’s all about balance for me and global sustainability with it.
I don’t like ‘meat’ like veggie burgers at all, so can sympathise with the post you were responding...
I take it all back, we’re great, Roberto is great… everything is great.
The ink’s probably drying on the new contract as I type 😂
No hyperbole from me, none whatsoever.
Conversely we get a strong finish, win a trophy - against the odds … he goes to a bigger club ?!? Especially as the narrative will feed the Roberto hype… in my book the only way he ever would have stayed is if we progressed into near CL contenders, as I think he likes a bit of an underdog story...
One problem with Roberto appears to be his thirst for new blood, I can’t help but feel he gets a real buzz from integrating new players… and conversely he seemingly grows tired of others quickly too … thus we’d probs always see a relatively high turnover of players, which in some respects...
Again - you’re not wrong… it’s a bit sad though, isn’t it? And wonderkids - for every Moises there’s a thousand Francis Jeffers.
And that’s not an encouraging thought.
lol. 😂
True, but the systematic asset stripping of our midfield - irrespective of injuries, would’ve made a top 4 finish beyond dreamlike !
Mo not working out really is a blow, one I’m guessing we’d planned to offset… sadly we can’t always get our man/men … after all, we’re not a big club.
Having watched the presser from today, you can literally pinpoint the moment when Roberto’s heart breaks … head shake… “I don’t know…” dead pan look… “transfers are not my business.” Full stop - death stare…
He’s gutted… it’s ceiling time, but in a way I perhaps didn’t envisage… he’s broken… as...
@dazzer6666
Again I don’t dispute your logic and I agree with what you’re saying - wholeheartedly.
I just worry we’ll stand to lose Roberto, which would be a great shame as it felt like were on the cusp of something incredible… it’s not entitlement on my part, just a bit inevitable and sad 😔 if...
I don’t dispute that, but I’m not sure Roberto is quite on message with our ethos… he should be, but I think he maybe thought European football might have tipped the scales…
I’ve got visions of him sitting with an Amaretto (on ice) staring at the ‘ceiling.’
His or ours?
Yes, but
Yes, but irrespective of injuries, Roberto has asked for three or four to help achieve his ‘historic aspirations’ … he’s got 1.
And we can’t play an array wingers/forwards in defensive midfield.
If I were him, well - I think I’d be just a little disappointed.
i foresee two possible outcomes in the aftermath of this window:
1 - Roberto refocuses and gets on with coaching and improving what he has.
Or
2 - it all goes a bit Gus.
Which is more likely ?
He looked to be a very useful forward facing attack minded midfielder, with that classy first touch and passing ability… although early on he looked too ponderous for the PL, I actually think he was beginning to come good and then he committed that stupid foul vs Sheff Utd. I suspect he got...
Even if we sign a CM today they won’t be starting, that’s for sure… one doesn’t learn our maverick tactical disposition in two days.
So… unless we get the balance and shape right from the get go, well, it might be tough..
But I caveat that with a frankly odd sense of calm and an assurance...
