To be honest I mostly wear something with several different colours on it to provide every chance of being seen possible. I also ride with a flashing rear light and static front light all the time.

When I was doing a lot of mountain biking I was about 74kg at 6'2". I could out climb pretty much everyone else in the club, then started out on the race bike and found that I could climb roads as well. lol
Only problem being I then got lazy, settled down with the now fiancee and put on 20kg...
It's the law in NZ as well. Christchurch has quite a lot of cyclists, but Wellington and Auckland don't. I suspect that's more to do with the topography than anything else though. Christchurch is on the edge of the Canterbury Plains, so pretty damn flat.
