Being dull is under-rated, the PM most commonly held to be one of the best in the UK's history was Attlee - probably the most charisma-free politician of them all. Asquith wasn't a barrel of laughs either.
Yet, between them, those two transformed the country more radically than any other before...
Marseille was about £700 for me (although that does include the cost of a second room when the one I originally booked wasn't available).
That's not too bad as it does include food and drink, but I could have done it cheaper if I'd ordered everything before I'd got a match ticket.
Easy one for me to answer: I actually prefer rugby union to (association) football so it's no-brainer.
I quite like rugby league, I used to watch it regularly when I was in Bradford, but it's a bit crash bang. I'm completely bemused by NFL, which seems to be the dullest team sport ever...
Rugby was a pretty major sport under Ceaucescu but when he and his missus were shot, it wasn't deemed a high priority and the sport died a death. It's only recently been revived.
It's a reminder of the power politicians can have on a sport: rugby was quite a big sport in pre-Hitler Germany and...
Echoes of Birmingham sacking Gary Rowett, who had them in the play-off position, to replace him with Gianfranco Zola ... and swiftly plummet down the table.
Will history repeat itself?
Well done, that's great news.
That will be a good new ground to visit when it's done; my third team that I'll have seen at three different home grounds (or second, if you don't count ground shares)
Zamora did pretty well, as did Sidwell. Croft may not have set the world on fire but he's obviously appreciated for his coaching abilities. Macca could see out his Liverpool contract and still be in his 20s, we may well be a decent option for him as a place to finish his career
That's interesting. I wondered whether it was because ads were being served to me because they were picking up on wife's browsing - even though we use different computers.
But it's certainly true that I get the weirdest ads: like the month of car companies and motor insurance, and the large...
Ads seem to have gone bonkers. All I'm getting now are adverts for perfume, makeup and women's underwear. I know that ads should reflect browsing habits but I really haven't gone trans - I've never looked at sites for perfume or women's underwear in my life
I
Doesn't help with rugby matches though. I got home from Guildford at 3 yesterday, just in time to watch the second half.
I missed the Bournemouth match too - they're an absolute pain. Why do we do rarely get the 4.30 KO, which would be much better for kids and adults involved in junior sport?
I'm not too excited about tomorrow as I won't be there - I'm in Guildford with the rugby team. I hope to be back in time to watch the second half of the match though. But watching on the box after the experience of Marseille is bound to be a bit of a letdown
