I really don't think that is what he is saying.
I will say in the lower tier that on at least one occasion things had calmed down when a handful of ours went over to the netting and inflamed the situation again including a couple who were nowhere around when it 1st started but pushed their way...
Although there were a few individuals who were goading their fans and contributed to an increase in things being thrown. And the usual people nowhere near who come along when its calming down and fan the flames again. These 3 european away games jave seen some stupid behaviour from a small...
@Lenny Rider
thanks for the care and concern you showed for my family.
The most concerned and helpful people on the night were the stadium kiosk staff who despite suffering themselves were trying to help fans. I know that two stadium medics did a great job helping those injured by flying full...
A number of families had gone into the concourse to avoid the stuff being thrown by aek fans. Then there were some flash bangs outside and aek fans running at the riot police further along the home concourse. I think the tear gas was let off outside and it came in through the barred metal gates...
He is on the equalities and human rights committee. Fair play but with only 6 members they clearly ran out of people for jobs and given that 3 of those 6 are attila the hun, vlad the impaler and the emperor nero it was a small selection pool.
I think this is incredibly harsh.
Cricket players and successful captains are generally very strategic thinkers.
Every player who has left recently has had murmurings from the club they were unreasonable/difficult. That cant all be true. Some of those now speaking have been there themselves...
Elizabeth Ammon from the Times has done some writing on this last year. Prior may be arrogant and his views of sussex may be biased/impacted albeit he is passionate, but on the cost of kids getting into county cricket he is dead right.
Sorry this is behind the paywall...
Village way south was mooted at one point. Pigott and Knight did have a few conversations I believe. Given how the spen cama legacy was used and the current plans and redevlopment at hove now, this probably ends that talk for a generation or 2
I have 2 sons who play cricket. One had a stop start/ poor experience with trials and opportunities with sussex and has now reached the point where he has fallen out of love with cricket. It saddens me as he is a good player but has had to play up 2 years due to a small number of kids his own...
If being honest is key then that honesty needs to be in the comms. If you took them all at face value, we are the best sussex cricket has ever seen and all players (and coaches) that leave are difficult to handle
I think that last comment is harsh. Why should any parent have to pay to have their kids on a pathway? All it does is exacerbate the issue that cricket isnt bringing through a diverse group of new players?
I'm not sure saying sussex cricket has ever been better is a sensible quote.
I think the playing poverty card also is hard to understand given 3 years ago we had the misfiring galacticos in t20 which caused animosity with the one day cup/cc teams. It was poor strategy which i am sure farbrace...
I came out with more euros from marseille velodrome than I went in with and that was after 3 heieneken, one water and 3 tomato and mozerella ciabattas.
Those awfully friendly french guys either side clearly enjoyed my singing as they gave me money
Spurs and southampton made me cry that day. Aston villa beating spurs to europe last year and us beating Southampton to qualify for Europe are just part of the healing process.
After the game I remember Mullery saying we would come back bigger and stronger the year after, and we did!
Will we get a sky sports programme where PBOBE will be questioned by Michael Owen?
Where will we get PC beard and Richard Hebberd brought back to question and review the decision?
