Hotel prices are very reasonable in Birmingham just after Christmas. I’ve got into the Ibis (New Street) for £40 a night (normally over £80). It’s not luxury but perfectly respectable (in the middle of Chinatown etc). But do avoid the Ibis Budget on the main road, it’s ghastly.
1. The first of those sources makes no mention of 2.5%.
2. The second refers to “recent reports suggest….” without giving a source without me creating a login. If you’ve the original source please let us have it.

Just like “cromulent”, “can I get” belongs to another part of the English-speaking world, but maybe you’re whooshing me. I admire anyone who forces me to head for a dictionary.
My positive is from looking at all the replies above, and seeing so many different players named as being good, that all (cough, cough) our players played well. I’d have hated to have called out our player of the match. While I was crawling up the aisle afterwards, dripping tears onto the tiers...
I know our game on Saturday wasn’t exactly a classic, but this is truly dreadful. If it weren’t for the names on the scorecard I’d have thought I was watching L1 stuff.
So, essentially, you don’t mind what the views of the owners are (or you’d have to check before going into any pub) but you object to hearing his views. Always had problems with free speech?
