To be honest I didn’t, the package had some weight as there’s a certificate in a hard backed envelope and I wasn’t expecting it so soon as eBay only notified as posted today for delivery Thursday - Friday. Thought it was something else. Lesson learned I guess.
Thanks all. Courier was APC, they aren’t interested as the package was signed for. True, as it wasn’t obviously damaged and I didn’t open it while they were there.
Have also reported to the Legion, the mailing company and the club, unfortunately none of whom can do anything. Will keep fingers...
Hi all, was lucky enough to secure the signed black Matthew Ryan away shirt in the recent poppy auction, unfortunately when my package arrived today I discovered the bottom of the envelope had been slit and the shirt removed, leaving just the certificate of authenticity. Gutted. Just posting on...
Overall enjoyed my day out, very proud of the team, Couple of things:
Bags policy was a joke. Had a small rucksack with a coat and spare jumper for my son. Told by security he would have to put the clothes on to get through the turnstile, at which point he could take them off and put them back...
All fair enough. But none as easy as walking 5 mins, getting in your car, and driving home. The real issue is not how I'm getting to the game, but that the club sees fit to inconvenience a considerable number of supporters for what seems like a minor issue. Falmer Auctions aren't blameless, not...
I'll probably have to leave him at home, which is a shame - I'll tell him to expect a dressing-down email from the club for not using his season ticket! Then I'll drive as close as I can get (maybe Lewes?) and take the train as you suggest. Of course he could do that too, but my experience is 6...
Of course it's a fair question but it's already seven hours door to door. I'll have my six year old son with me, so I don't fancy train from Shoreham, queuing at Brighton for a train to Falmer, shoe-horning him on, then doing it all in reverse on the way back.
Got the same email. "The club lawyers have contacted us stating the club has lost money due to the misuse of their logo". Really? Seems a bit heavy handed to me. Use the car park as I drive down from Guildford and now have no viable transport option to get to the game. Seagulls travel coach...
Good post, but it's not just the 'newer fans' we should be worried about. This thread is littered with examples of long standing supporters for whom this season seems to be the last straw, for one reason or another.
Voted undecided. Been supporting Albion since 1979, but now live away from Sussex so every Amex game takes 7 hours out of my Saturday. Go straight to midweek games from work in London, which is a right pain and means a very late night getting home. The football this season hasn’t been worth...
The last point is an interesting one - the Guardian did a study a couple of years ago and for some teams in the Premier League the average amount of time that the ball was actually in play was as little as 58 minutes. The most was 66 minutes. Hardly value for money. This season in particular...
Kind of related, but last week I was unfortunate enough to stumble across a TV programme about Josie Cunningham, who apparently is infamous for having had a £5,000 boob job courtesy of the NHS. She enjoys £30 a day worth of taxpayer-funded taxis for the school run, not because her children are...
Well in theory, no one. Child benefit is means tested. Any household where someone earns more £50,000 is not entitled to the full payment, and if you don't voluntarily opt out then the government claw it back through the tax system. Although you could argue that a household with two people...
Despite the Palace connection, Kevin Phillips? Proper model pro, and a nice guy as well. Had the pleasure of meeting him on holiday in Spain, he had just been released by Birmingham and was very, very interested in signing for us. Been pretty complimentary about the Albion ever since I believe...
Good question. I think I registered initially to use the ticket exchange, didn’t visit the board for a while but might start to post a bit. This is fascinating time to be an Albion supporter.
So expect my post count to have reached about 10 by the end of 2017!
Hi - as per previous posts, there is a coach from Woking that runs via Guildford, Horsham, Henfield and various points in-between. I get it every home game with between 4 - 6 others, by far the easiest way to get to (and away from) the Amex. PM me if you want more details - there are plenty of...
