I was just doing running up until Christmas but they had a great offer at the gym (£230 for the year, including swimming) and I've been going 3-4 times a week for cross-training and weights. Thought I'd hate it but I've been really enjoying it and it seems to help the running.
Yeh I had the flu jab (and my company paid for it). It's nothing as bad as flu but constant niggly colds. Supposed to be running 24 miles on Saturday and it's going to be touch and go.
People have also mentioned SAD which can go hand in hand with all the lurgies to make for a really miserable...
Without wishing to turn this into Mumsnet - does anyone else find that they're just constantly bloody ill from ~October till April every year?
Colds, sore throats one after the other... As soon as it warms up, all is well.
I guess having small kids doesn't help, but I do shed loads of exercise...
Agreed, it's also hugely variable. If they've only been once then can they really judge it? E.g. I've seen us play at Elland Road when it's like a morgue, but also when it's rocking.
Terraces were what made me love football, honestly not sure I would have gotten into it otherwise. And I only really caught the tale end of them sadly.
