It's hard to say as i see them as different types of player. If you want him to be part of a deep build up, then Caicedo is ahead by a distance. But if you want him to drive forward with the ball then Baleba is ahead.
If you kick the ball away/step infront to prevent a player from taking a quick free kick it’s a textbook yellow card. If you do that while already on a yellow card you’re a bit thick and deserve to get sent off.
Absolutely no idea what Arsenal’s complaints are.
Looks like Moder is staying then? Given Hurzeler’s preference for tall, athletic midfielders, there could be a role for him after all. Especially while MOR is out.
Rather than thinking who would be best playing 1v1 on Saka, I prefer to look at how we can tactically limit him. Porto showed a good approach to this last season. Wide CB's and high fullbacks to pin him back. The threat of a Mitoma/Ferdi left side would be our best option IMO.
I think it's far more to do with the system that FH wants to play than it is a reflection on WBG. His role (deeper of the midfield 3) will become the one that slots into CB in the longer term, which i can't see Billy doing mainly due to his height. Weiffer was probably signed for this role with...
I think he should've gone on loan to the championship in January to get regular football after his injury. Would've given him a better chance of being in our squad this season IMO.
Obviously injuries/lack of signing meant that was not possible.
Here is the heatmap of Jackson Irvine from St Pauli last season, i think this is where O'Riley would play.
For comparison, here is O'Riley's heatmap from Celtic last season
And James Milner's vs Everton (only one game, but you can see the trend forming)
Yep, very similar player.
I remember back when RDZ said it will be very difficult for us to keep Joao. Could well be some sort of clause in his contract.
On the other hand, perhaps we just want two top class players in each attacking position?
Welbeck/Ferguson
Pedro/Rutter
Minteh/Gruda...
