Big Week here in Washington DC

I first thought the British are coming was yet another reference to the 50th anniversary of the first US Beatles concert here in DC. But it's all about beer.
I'm really looking forward to trying the...
I have had some epic sessions on Belgian beer, 2 trips spring to mind, Antwerp all dayer, a rather splendid city, and of course Brussels. And a good amount of Belgian beer crosses into northern France, so Lille is a good and easy day trip too. Just be prepared!!!
OK so I filled the growler with Avery India Pale Ale.
Avery is a fine outfit, from Boulder, Co.

I'm told the limited release Maharaja Imperial IPA is a truly excellent beer, so I'm looking out - should be available now, no sitings yet.
Right, all these recent posts have made me really thirsty, so I'm off to Whole Foods now to get some supplies - not sure what yet, may even take the growler for an outing.
I do enjoy this thread, even the odd bit of falling out - nothing wrong in that so long as it stays focused on the topic...
This will be my last post on terminology, but I can't let your description of the term 'craft' go uncorrected. It is simply not true to say that it is applied only to small breweries not making lager. Many of the craft brewers I'm familar with are proud of their lagers, we discuseed some...
Well the industry seems quite comfortable using it to differentiate the smaller batch brews from the mass produced, mass marketed products. The bigger brewers who are trying to move into the space have also adopted the term. I'd susuggest you are in a bit of a minority here, especially on this...
Your post suggests you are rather missing the point, all beer is not equal, that's why the new wave of independents started brewing to add some variety and taste, as well as reviving 'lost' styles and ingredients. I further suggest you do some research as opposed to posting ill thought out...
Hmm, making me thirsty.
Nothing new from Sponge Bob, presumably still reading up and getting edicated on the Craft Beer scene whilst sipping a Carling.
Judging by your language I'd say you need to relax! You don't have to read and post on the thread. A few of us enjoy our beer, are excited by the current revoltion in beer, spearheaded by 'craft' brewers, the fact that the new guys on the block are shaking up the big brewers who have done a lot...
Bad weather clearly attributing to current run of appalling service, but there are many service failings that are not due to the weather.
The TOCs take a lot of blame/carry a lot of the blame but I think the bigger issue lies in government policy, lack of investment, the fragmented structure of...
Good thanks, but busy.
Been traveling a little, plus the cold/snow puts a dent on the lunch trips..
But there are places to be checked out, and I think it is going to get a bit warmer next week so will make an effort. I still haven't been to the Right Proper Brewing Company, although I doubt...
I don't think they understand the production volume limits too well, clearly Amsterl, Guiness and Heinekin, just a few on that list do not qualify.
Maybe a few do.
There is a bit of a trend too, to call anything that is not weak, fizzy Euro lager, or flat old mans ale, 'craft' beer, especially...
That's what we got last night, stopped now and a little bit of drizzle mixed in at the end, before some more snow later on the tail end. QUOTE=Lyndhurst 14;6192046]6" in Manhattan; still snowing heavily
