Ah yeah, the Svejk restaurants are a notorious tourist trap. Looks like you got almost the full run of their shitty practices (the only thing missing from your list is the way they leave pretzels on the table that look like they're free, but you even look in their general direction and you'll...
Can't really give you too much advice on where to stay, as I live here so don't have much experience with the hotels. But Vysehrad is a lovely area and it won't disappoint you if you stay around there. If you don't stay in that area, I'd suggest finding somewhere else on the C (red) metro line...
It always feels crap when we lose, but given that we started with four (right?) teenagers in the team, away at Stamford Bridge, a 3-2 defeat is kinda creditable really.
Also not feeling too optimistic about this one because of the injuries, suspensions, and how taxing the last few games have been. And I'm really not looking forward to Chelsea fans acting like they've won the Champions League afterwards.
But in a way, that all shows how far our club's come...
I thought the other day "we lost our Argentinian international midfielder over the summer but the new striker we brought in is now a Brazilian international".
It's just like the games of Championship Manager 2 I used to play when I should have been studying for my degree.
If we have a late-season run of form during the period when we were flagging last season, I'll look back and think "ah, I knew this was RDZ's master plan".
If we don't, I'll look back and think "ah, I knew all that rotation was a bad idea".
Danny Cullip has to be a contender for the "past" award, surely. Not sure I'd want to get on the wrong side of Charlie Oatway either.
As for "present", for me it's Dunk.
I moved away from Brighton in 1997 and away from the UK in 2011 - it was after the latter move that I really started using this board a lot more (I was more of a reader than a participant before that).
Because while I wasn't born in Brighton, it's where I grew up - I lived there from the ages...
I've started voting for Albion defeats on these because I'm always wrong, so I feel like predicting a defeat somehow magically makes it more likely we'll win
I comfort myself with the fact that RDZ has spoken openly about how taking the Palermo job before he was ready was the biggest misstep of his career so far. I hope that that's taught him not to accept a job just because it's seen as a "big job" in the football world.
This. The guy's an absolute danger and if he's not reined in, he's going to cause an on-pitch tragedy with his complete disregard for the physical safety of his opponents.
Just occurred to me that I never heard any news about Offiah in relation to the health scare he had. Presumably it wasn't as bad as feared, given he's playing again, but were any details ever released?
Tough choice. I think I'd have to go for the Curly Wurly, but I'd feel bad about the Fudge.
Also, these kinds of threads are precisely why we have international breaks imo.
TBF it didn't look so cheap at the time. He was expected to be a bit-part player, at best, in an Argentina side that many doubted could win the world cup.
Then he then went on to be a star player in the Argentina side that won the world cup, which obviously made his value shoot up. But if that...
