Starmer seems a decent guy who means well, as are the majority of Labour voters. This pub thing just shows the difficultly of keeping everyone happy at the same time.
And Starmer's reaction - or non-reaction - was fine too. It's not him who is the problem (apart from the fact that he's dull and...
This won't be the end of it, though. Like the the Treaty for Establishing a Constitution for Europe, it'll be back next year with a different name with the authorities claiming it's an entirely different thing.
Yes, the '6' are seeing what they can get away with. When they said things like "this is not a ploy, we have signed contracts" it's clear it is a negotiating tactic. They're seeing how far they can go and hope UEFA meet them in the middle.
Offering concessions to them will just encourage them...
Looks like the starting point of negotiation to me; something will happen, but not the thing that's been announced. Instead the various parties will negotiate a way to make some of this part of regular European football.
Already the Champions League changes included plans to help the "big"...
Isn't this the clubs posturing so that UEFA can offer a "compromise" that is better for the clubs than the currently planned one and then everyone can agree and get back to counting their money?
I thought there was some search engine that included both the English books and the Hansard records in the same place? Both your screenshots showed the same heading...
Passports being considered expensive is just a way letting you know you shouldn't be thinking of spending money on holidays. I do think one of the reasons the UK allows dual (or loads of) citizenship is to make money from people applying for it and passports.
Not sure they are needed for ID...
I thought it was interesting that the medics, when I had my vaccine done, were telling people it was likely to be worse than the flu-vaccine in terms of effects afterwards for a few days.
They said don't worry about symptoms unless they continue on the 4th day.
The problem for me is that I so much want this style we're playing to succeed. It will be really dispiriting if it fails because we just can't score enough.
It also depends on what Fulham do too (assuming they lose tonight), but in every year under 30 points isn't enough to stay up.
Certainly if we lose to Newcastle and Southampton I could see us being 2 to 4 points adrift and things being difficult.
But all season we've looked like we could...
