RB Salzburg (my local team) played Roma in the knockout round last year. Won 1-0 at home, but lost 0-2 away. The two best Roma players at the game in Salzburg were Tammy Abraham (now injured) and Smalling (on the bench yesterday).

Their penalty could have been overturned by VAR, and the foul on Ferguson in the box could also have been looked at - so to say that "decisions didn't go against us today" is not fully justified.
