    Brighton sign Harper

Based on what? When have we, in recent years, ever sold any of our players for "peanuts"? We got very good fees for Bridcutt, Buckley and Ulloa, and we have literally just turned down £4m for Dunk. We're actually very good at getting the right price for our players when we do sell them. What's...

Almost every team that gets promoted in this division uses a 2 up front formation. If we can create an effective striking partnership, such as Baldock and Hemed, then they will score far more than if we were to play Hemed on his own with Baldock on the wing again, for example. They will bring...

    Brighton sign Harper

I'd say we already have two main strikers - Baldock and Hemed. With the two new youngsters and COG as backup, Colunga too if he stays, we're pretty much sorted. A couple of wingers and centre backs should be the priority now.

Derby and Fulham bid for Dunk [+ Newcastle now interested]

Baldock was not a waste of money. He's a quality finisher and would score loads if played in his correct position; £1.5m for him, in the current market, is very good value. You also have appeared to have completely made up a fee for Colunga, I don't remember any sources saying he was £900k. In...

Derby and Fulham bid for Dunk [+ Newcastle now interested]

We could easily replace him for much less than £4m, I personally think he's pretty overrated to be honest. However, that would leave us with just Greer (not good enough anymore) and Rea (promising but unproven), so we'd have to make good use of the money, and I'm not so confident about our...

[Albion] There is ZERO chance of SIGNING anyone today.

As long as we spend the money we make from him, I'd be fine with this. He's not worth £4.5m. I'd say we could replace him for £2m quite easily if we buy well, and that would leave £2.5m to buy a quality attacking player or two.

Spanish Dave - Would You Welcome Him Back?

I don't understand why anyone would. Loads of people have an obsession with bringing him and especially Orlandi back, ignoring the fact they were released because they were both poor towards the end of their careers here, and have both since got older and slower. It would be a disaster.

Steve McClaren bans Newcastle United players from swearing

Obviously you have to be mindful of who you are talking to, and there are times when swearing is not appropriate. But during a competitive football game? Just ridiculous in my opinion.

Steve McClaren bans Newcastle United players from swearing

Depends what you mean by occasional. I personally don't see a problem with almost constant swearing, as long as it makes sense and is used correctly within a sentence. As Fry says, it's not always or even ever necessary, but it is in no way an indication of a lack of intellect, and it can help...

Steve McClaren bans Newcastle United players from swearing

Ridiculous argument. Stephen Fry sums it up here: I don't see the point in what McLaren is doing. If people would prefer to swear to release their stress/frustration, then forcing them to hold in their pent up emotions isn't gonna help. If anyone is genuinely offended by swearing then they...

    Danny Holla

Centre mid has got to be our strongest area of the squad. The options of an in form Holla, Stephens, Ince, Kayal and Crofts looks very tasty indeed, great depth. I may be wrong but it seems as if there is more general squad morale this year too, they all seem to be really enjoying the trip. It's...

Who do you / Have you rated...

Baldock. Whilst its seems that the consensus is that he's at least decent now, he is still seen as a failure of a signing by many. I think he adapted very well out of position on the left wing and if played up front would score loads. Also, people use the fact that "he's not proven in the...
