[Albion] Whats the game you was shit scared the most?

    [Misc] Valentine's Day

In golfing parlance, you do realise that you must ask for the course owner’s permission, to play the back 9.

    [Misc] Valentine's Day

I’m significantly overdrawn on Brownie Points, having amassed my 467 STH points. So, Mrs W being a huge Downton Abbey fan, on Valentine’s night I’m taking her to Highclere Castle (where the series is filmed) for champagne and canapés.

[Football] New blue card and 10 mins in sin-bin

If there’s 8 minutes added time left, and you’re 2 goals up, just get your entire team sin binned with blue cards. The oppo would be able to walk one goal into the open net, but then theres no-one to take the kick off so the game ends and you win by one. Brilliant.

    [NSC] Royal Sussex County Hospital.

I go back to late 1984 when I was blue-lighted from my flat in Hove to the RSCH with cardiac issues, they were brilliant then, and it sounds like 40 years later they are brilliant now. I woke up the morning after and one of the Nurses said ‘you’re a lucky man, we had that Norman Tebbit in this...

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I hope so, along with absolutely minimal collateral human suffering. Just render the war-monger completely impotent please.

[Humour] Weird And Wonderful Stuff Bought A Car Boot Sale

My middle lad lives near Albert Park in Melbourne, rents a place there. Moved to a new rental a couple of weeks ago, and the mattress in the new place was sheight. Cycling home from St Kilda one day he saw a belting almost new high end brand king mattress in a skip, someone doing a full refurb...

[Humour] Weird And Wonderful Stuff Bought A Car Boot Sale

When in Iceland for a family reunion about 18 years ago, we went to a flea market because we thought there might be some interesting and different stuff. I bartered the seller down on two decorative brass table oil burners, from what was about £60 at the time to about £20. Turns out they were...

[Albion] Garth Crooks (made-up) Team of the Week 2023/24

Sat next to him on a flight to Warsaw during the Euros 2012. Proper miserable grumpy bastard. Really unnecessarily so, no-one was pestering him, just a proper self-miserable CJTC.

[Football] FA Cup 5th round draw [Wolves away]

Maybe they should do the penalty shoot out before the main match kick off, then maybe we can all get home.

[Football] FA Cup 5th round draw [Wolves away]

The last train out is 22.45 and I'm booked on it. The game proper will end at 21.45. ET would run from 21.50 to 22.25. And it’s a 15 minute walk to the station. So, I would miss penalties. And so would anyone else heading south.

[Football] What football boots did you have as a kid?

Patrick with the two stripes near the heel, the first boots available with aluminium studs in the late 70s. And for harder pitches, adidas, moulded with 27 studs.

[Finance] Premium Bonds - prize pool increased again - you ever have any luck?

Feckin boooo. Got an equivalent annual return of 2.8% on the February 1st draw. I think the new average luck rate of return is 4.4%. So I was miles behind that. Feckin, boooo.

[Misc] Anyone else ill all winter, every winter

On the strength of suggestions on here, I’ve just bought a vit D high strength quick absorption spray. Brilliant stuff. Apparently the body dispels any excess taken, so get stuffing the vit D in, you can hardly go wrong.

[Finance] Premium Bonds - prize pool increased again - you ever have any luck?

There is a £100k winner in Brighton and Hove with a total holding of £5795. The winning bond was purchased in Feb 23. Been through the entire list of Feb winners down to £5k, and not joking, there are a LOT of B&H area winners this month, a lot more than usual.
