That's lovely. All I would say is that the 20s to the 50s there was also a Div 3 North. So it's very hard to day we were in a certain position because we can't include them. For example, some northern side could do the same exercise and claim to be in the same position that we are in 1933. Does...
Three thoughts:
- great share, thank you - what a composer Issac Hayes was. You'd die happy just having written that one tune.
- lovely to see David Seaman on trumpet
- reminds me of the big band that used to play in Angmering (or Storrinton) in a pub with a barn on Sunday nights. Great fun...
I'm not sure that's right because I don;t think that is what it is measuring. It actually appears to be simply saying how many wins, draws and defeats and applying points to that and making a table. Which is patently nonsense because you could be top of their tble if all you ever did was come...
I had a look at calculating actual positions each season and then making an average from that. But the number of leagues, the nature of the competition and the variation in the number of teams in each league make it really difficult. Maybe that's one for the long Xmas holidays.
Edit: I did some...
Is that "average league position"? Which I would take to mean your average place in the top 92 clubs over the period.
It actually appears to be position in the 92 based on results over the given period. Hence in the Last 5 years, Plymouth come 9th, Bolton 5th and Pompey 6th.
This reflects...
I hadn't seen this. Good news if he is taking the international break to recover. From The Argus:
Carlos Baleba was also withdrawn from international action as he regains full fitness.
Baleba has been troubled by a knee problem but was fit enough to produce an outstanding 45 minutes in the...
That's a leap, isn't it?
This is a non story that has only been given exposure because it can be tied to our often-talked-about recruiting process and obvious success.
What's really been said?
- three staff (probably scouts, though this article calls them "recruitment scouts" whatever that...
And if the "need" is to reinforce a squad that has got into the top 4 places, to help secure that opportunity, then maybe he would?
I appreciate that Tony doesn't like to buy in January- it smacks of poor planning- but he might in order to press home a strong first half of the season?
As for...
I suppose I was thinking that if we're still somewhere near the top of the table, some judicious purchases might eb the thing that help keep us there as the season goes on.
I'm not advocating a spend - spend - spend approach, more a tactical reinforcement. And my thought is that it's probably...
I'm sure this has been posted before - well worth alisten (roughly half an hour)

Isn't/wasn't Lineaker the hioghest paid person at the Beeb? Getting commercially slaughtered by the streamers, it's no surprise that they aren't renewing his contract, whatever he would prefer.
Worth listening to The Rest is Entertainment podcast if you want an easy to follow take on how...
Day 12: 16st 2lb

But the inexorable rise from 15st 13lb carries on. Bread and peanut butter not helping. Today I focus. Habit change has not become established. Reminding myself I need to lose weight to help reduce my blood pressure.
PS I didn't want to post my weight today and considered...
