After years as a Purchase History fan I could see that the higher success we were having in cup runs and Europe becoming more likely meant MyAlbion+ was a necessity towards end of last season. I can only make 2-5 games a season due to distance from home in Nottingham and being retired I take...
The great day is nearly here. After the journey we’ve had it’s almost a dream. I keep fearing it’s like the Bobby Ewing shower scene in Dallas in the 80s and I’ll wake up to find it never happened. The closest “pinch me” Brighton moment I’ve previously experienced was the 1983 FA Cup Final...
Started doing a paper round 7 days a week in Mill Hill, North London in 1973. Then found the local golf club was paying a lot more money for a single round of 4 hours. Soon got a regular who booked me every week for £5 a round. Relatively easy money for a single session instead of every day. Got...
I’m in Block B row 14 for the rugby tonight. This in in the area for away fans on Thursday, although I’ve got tickets in AA for the match. I wonder if the netting will be in place for rugby fans? Somehow I think not!!
Off to watch South Africa vs Tonga at the Velodrome tonight. Please do come and join me this week as it’s lonely being a Seagull in Marseille at the moment….
The Camargue in Southern France is where the Rhone river meets the Mediterranean. It is a well known bird sanctuary where many species can be seen, particularly famous for its colony of Flamingos.
However, some studies suggest there may soon be a new phenomenon just along the coast in the...
Weather in Marseille at the moment is like a very good summer’s day in UK. Gets up to 20C quite quickly and peeking mid-high 20s. Shorts and tee shirt fine at 8am and 11pm yesterday. Some days a bit hazy in the morning but burns off to give blue sky. Don’t forget your sun tan lotion otherwise...
I’m out in Marseille for two weeks. Came for the rugby, staying extra 3 days for the football once draw was made and MyAlbion+ tickets purchased. For rugby matches wearing England colours around is not a problem and good banter with the Frenchies and lots of other nations. That’s on match...
You can check out the view of seats by looking to buy tickets for the Rugby World Cup at the same stadium. AA looks to be 4 rows on incline but standing not allowed as wheelchair platform is just behind. Above/behind seems to be some more luxurious seating. Block B in front. If you do go onto...
I’ve gone for front row seats in AA also. With all the standing getting in and out I’m not sure 2 hours of the match on my feet would be good for me and some health problems. As long as can see over the top of block B then should be a problem (I hope)
It looks like many fans are doing creative routes to make it out to Marseille. You might also want to consider some backup plans just in case, as possible rail and tube strikes in UK around these dates
The Aslef union will hold strikes on:
Wednesday October 4 – train and Tube strike
Friday...
