    [News] Veterinary costs under investigation

Having worked in insurance I understand what you say, but that sector doesn’t have a great record in providing good value for money products and I feel this is one of them………and don’t get me started on motor insurance where the excessive charging by repairers drives up the cost of insurance...

    [News] Veterinary costs under investigation

Glad to see this is being investigated by CMA. Hopefully the insurers will be investigated too: obviously there’s increased likelihood of claims as pets get older, but the double whammy of significant increase in premiums each year AND increased excess is appalling. They will of course blame...

    [Albion] Carlos Baleba

He seems to get better each game and deserves more game time. He’s very skilful but he’s also a bit of a bulldozer which is what we need in midfield. Exciting prospect for next season. For the gamblers on here, he’s usually a dead cert for a yellow card in your ‘build a bet’!

    [Travel] Reflections on Rome

To a certain extent it’s a generational thing. When you’re a certain age, like me, who’s used to rejoicing at getting an away point at Macclesfield, being able to see our team play in Rome ( regardless of the result) was special. Being able to share it with my son and other friends in a...

[Albion] That was a red wasn’t it?

It might have deserved a red. But we don’t often walk away from a match saying we were lucky to get away with a VAR decision (it’s almost always the opposite) - so let’s rejoice.

[Football] The return of the Jack (hero)

It was good to see you in good spirits on the flight home after your terrible ordeal. I’m sure you’ll forever remember the “Jack Albion” chant as you entered the stadium…….and the follow up chant of “there’s nothing wrong with you”!

[Drinking] Where are we going to hang out in Rome?

Shamrock was fun earlier with the chanting led by JPVH’s family. Moved on to the Albert which got a bit busy with 100 + outside but it’s eased off now

[Drinking] Where are we going to hang out in Rome?

Exactly- I’ll get in there early and and put them to one side

    [News] Life in Seaford.

Not a resident but I go there quite a lot because it’s easy to park and a nice walk on the sea front for oldens. Strikes me as a pleasant place to live - near to Brighton and Eastbourne if you need them but a quietish place with all the shops for most essentials. I best leave it to the residents...

    [Albion] Fatboy Slim in Rome

Seems like we should introduce the lads and Dads and split into a Fat Boy group and a pub and early night group!!

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I’m sort of surprised that the bbc reporter the excellent Steve Rosenberg hasn’t been kicked out of Russia yet. His reports are always couched with doubt and cynicism about anything said or done by the Russian regime. Long May it continue

[Drinking] Where are we going to hang out in Rome?

We will try to get Fiddlers this evening. Assume they’ll be showing the footie? Went to the Albert last night - just north of Qirinale palace - it’s ok tho a bit small but they show football and have a pool table

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

I’d be more surprised if this sort of stuff hadn’t been discussed by NATO members. But this shows a worrying lack of security.

    [Albion] Fatboy Slim in Rome

Apart from the distance to the gig, travel time, the high risk of not getting in without a dress and the cost of booze, are there any negatives?😄

[Misc] Can anyone on here speak Latin ?

I achieved a grade 9 in Latin O Level at a time when 1 was the highest grade! O me miserum

[Music] Songs about or referencing footballers

Attilla’s “Role up for the donkey derby” wasn’t very complimentary about Gary O’Reilly, then of Palace.

    [Politics] Russia invades Ukraine (24/02/2022)

Whether that’s down to the long arm of Ukraine or just an accident - good.

    [Albion] Positives from today

Wasn’t Webster at fault for the first goal? Positives for me: Baleba (other than one horrendous misplaced pass back); no new injuries and should have lots of fresh legs for Roma

    [Albion] Fatboy Slim in Rome

my wife reserved tickets for me and my son. She said she lied about my age in case there was an upper age limit. Is it reserved seating?
