I reffed a game last year where the manager of the team that was winning 21-0 criticised me for ending the game a few minutes early. There really are some complete aholes in kids football - but let’s not forget the majority of volunteers who do a great job as best they can. Most coaches are Dads...
I’ve experienced similar. Re the superstar parents, over the years I’ve learned not to pander to them as they generally don’t hang around long because they’re always searching for a “better” club or coach to massage their ego
It seems that there might have been an anti war candidate (Ekaterina Duntsova) standing against Putin in Russia’s imminent election. Surprisingly 🤦♂️she’s been banned from standing as she made errors in her application form
I thought he did well last night and has had a great season so far - a completely different player from his “bit part” performances last season, which is probably the result of putting his personal problems aside combined with great motivational coaching.
He seems to make a bigger impact with every game: stronger, faster more direct. Not quite yet the “first name on the team sheet” but getting closer and certainly a great squad player
True - but trying to take a positive from the many injuries, we’ve been able to blood a number of youngsters who will either go on to be valued first team players or sold on at a greater price than we might otherwise have achieved.

I think it was great the Met were there in numbers - otherwise there would have been chaos with the “hard nuts” on both sides crapping their pants and running away from each other
Agree it’s a complete non event for me. It’s main value for thousands of us is that it gives another week for Harland to get fit for our Fantasy League teams.
I was close to it and that’s exactly my take on it too. Well done to the guys who called out the racist. I think it sobered him up - to me he looked a ashamed or possibly scared of a kicking
You always need a strong defensive display at Arsenal and we certainly got one today. Great individual performance and leadership from Dunk, ably supported by JpVH in particular, kept us in the game to the end.
I’m not sure about that - if you’re caught speeding and the police don’t stop the faster car in front, you’re still speeding. But it doesn’t seem right that the only punishment is for our single flare, which was sadly pathetic by comparison to the pyrotechnic display at the opposite end (and the...
