I like Denis my friend and think he is very decent. I just cant see him dislodging the others mentioned who appear ot have that bit more needed. £20m is massive money to spend for all but the elite clubs and so i hope this one still happens in our favour
I hope we didnt get too greedy on this one... Denis had a good season in Germany but wasnt quite making the grade in the premier league. I cant see how he dislodges a fit Pedro, Ferguson or Welbeck in the starting 11 and so a sale to Stuttgart would have been ideal imho.
It may of course still...
I agree and dont think we would make a profit. I do believe we could expect to make our money back though. Surely a player in his prime that has lit up the best league in the world would command that.
It is of course always ifs and buts, so we shall see. He could of course be a total flop too...
I do wonder whether the club will go all in for this guy. He is clearly an excellent player and can play pretty much anywhere.
£45M is one hell of a some of money but if he is that good, and we got 2 great seasons out of him, would we not at least recoup our money when one of the big boys...
We do need to be a little careful with this one... I understand that Denis had a phenomenal season with Stuttgart and has thus increased his value many times over but if he were to stay with us and then have a less than stellar 24/25, we would be left with a player whose worth to us may have...
I actually think we have him in our squad already Tom.
Pascal has been Mr reliable since he joined us and played in multiple positions with great effect. Last season he was of course employed as a central midfielder. I believe his best position though is as a 10 or someone who sits a little...
What you‘re missing my friend are things that our club hold dear and probably just as much as receiving top end money.
Our club is driven by good people that fully embrace those that are respectful, honourable, loyal and professional.
Pascal is all of those things and more and has thus earnt the...
Pascals been a wonderful servant to our club and a clear leader both on and off the pitch.
Im sad to see him go (if indeed he does) but goes with nothing but my well wishes.
Thanks PG
Agree with a lot of these thoughts. Ive only listed the way i have because the squad is only broken down in to 4 areas on the BHA website... Goalkeepers, Defence, Midfielders and Forwards. The ins and outs are just squad places rather than actual postions on the pitch.
I completely agree and personally would ship out Milner to give him his squad berth. I cant see that happening though and i think the new aquisitions will all get a squad place. Who else goes to make space?
I was taking a quick look at our 23/24 squad this morning (under 21's excluded) and wondered just how much it might change this summer in readiness for next season. My personal thoughts are below using players already signed or that we are being linked with.
It would be good to see where other...
I don’t think it would break the bank to get all 3 of these guys in. Given who has gone and who may go, I really hope we do.
Just a decent RB then and possibly another centre half and we would be looking good.
I’d love us to try and nick Livramento off Newcastle too
Should we lose out on this guy, I’d very much like to see us attempt to sign Smith-Rowe for that link player role. There’s a really good player in there.
Id still like to see Wieffer and Gomez signed too though
The FA need to grow some and start hitting clubs like Chelsea with proper punishments.
I’ve just come off the sky sports transfer centre and had to actually check I wasn’t on a designated Chelsea page.
Bloody ridiculous
