My take on this is that Barco wants to be playing every week and who can blame him. He doesnt strike me as someone where the money is all that matters. I actually respect that he is looking to play elsewhere if we cant give him the playing time he wants here.
I personally thought he would be the...
He’s made mistakes for sure but so has Dunky, Mitoma and Welbeck etc. I’m not going to hold a few silly mistakes against a guy with immense talent. No-one is perfect.
That would be good… Agreed.
Im a little concerned that Baleba may be shipped out on loan though this season. Hasn’t been on the pitch in midfield once through pre-season and when he has been played, it’s at the back.
I love the guy but I have a feeling he may be loaned out if WBG stays on.
I’ve read people saying his defending isn’t up to it yet but what I’ve seen is very different. He’s a tenacious terrier that doesn’t pander to anyone.
Each to their own but imho his defending is fine
Id think that all of this investment would be paid back many times over further down the line due to the clubs value only increasing. I agree with you totally though.
I want this signing more than any other we have made thus far but you have to respect Fenerbahce for standing their ground. They want to keep the guy as we did with both Cucu and Caicedo. I hope we get him in the end but they will certainly have made us pay a proper fee for him. Respect...
I never said there would be. I said that he could have a stunning season with Sevilla and then get snapped up next summer by a bigger fish. I use the Undav comparison as he wasnt really played here, went away and made a name for himself and thus was not seen in the stripes again.
Agreed...
Id be more worried about one of the very biggest clubs falling in love with him though and offering a big fee next summer that we couldnt refuse. It would be a crying shame not to see this guy in the stripes properly for a season or 2. I guess its the risk we take though and is in...
Few more rather decent players too in Poalo Maldini and Dennis Irwin
Agreed. There have already been some major players doing a more than decent job as inverted fullbacks... Maldini and Irwin spring to mind immediately
I’m disappointed to see this news this morning. Had Barco down as our breakout superstar this season. He seems to have it all.
I just hope that we see him in the stripes again. A top season at Sevilla may see offers come in next season that are too good to refuse.
Imho he is better than Pervis
The more I watch us build this window, the more that I think that this has been planned out to perfection.
I think we’ve wanted to do this for a while but potentially kept it from RDZ so we could manage him out without him kicking off too much. Let him think it was his choice to go and all that...
