I thought his subs were much better today, albeit he was bringing on some of his best players, so it’s hard to argue it was some mind blowing tactical move.
I’m not sure bringing on Moder was the best move though. Our change to 442 and the shift back allowed them to have the ball and they very...
Not many clubs have ever spent £200m, that’s the point. We played that very game this summer, yet arguably we’ve only got one player who improves our first 11 (and yes, I’ve no doubt many will argue this point).
Also, isn’t the whole point of this thread that people can come and claim that the...
I’d like to know what’s improved?
The country is a shadow of what it was 14 years ago and it’s divided generationally between the Baby Boomers and everyone else. The lack of trickle down wealth in the past 14 years, the rise in house prices and the stagnation of salaries, alongside the absolute...
I’ve got to say, I like the optimism.
For me though, it’s impossible to rate MOR, Gruda, or any of the kids sent out on loan.
In terms of the 3 we’ve seen more regularly - Weiffer, Minteh and GR - Minteh has looked raw but full of potential, Weiffer has looked miles off it / no where near good...
I totally respect your right to disagree 👍
I’ve just never been a big fan of Mr Bean type comedy, so the first season has never done it for me. Not that I have much or any time for Miranda or Mrs Browns boys either.
In fact, I can’t remember the last time I watched a good modern comedy.
A very similar experience to you in how I came into it, and it’s still one of the absolute best series ever created for me.
It’s a shame the first season of Blackadder was so poor, because S2-3 were also brilliantly funny.
It depends on the height of the shot relative to his dive, no?
The Salah shot was in the top corner. If he goes with his bottom arm (his right), he just looks miles from it.
The earlier save you’re talking about was much lower down, so it makes sense to dive with the lower arm.
All very positive I’d say. The biggest downside is the income tax bands not moving again. I still think it’s insane that £50k is the 40% tax band for PAYE given the state of inflation over the past few years, and to keep that in place until 2028 seems even more ridiculous. It’s just another...
He didn’t have to. He had to stall the attack as long as possible before getting support. He was outnumbered. All jumping in does is potentially give away a penalty.
It was impossible to miss for a player at that level, or at least it should’ve been. And he didn’t need to pass it immediately anyway. I honestly can’t believe people are still trying to fashion a defence for his moment of ineptitude.
The best we can do is accept it was awful, it cost us 2...
This simply isn’t true. JPVH actually wasn’t positioned well at all, and the Wolves attacker to the left of Cunha came across and took him out of the equation, leaving Cunha and the player to his right. It Igor presses Cunha, he slides it to the right and that player’s has an even better chance...
Many of you may have, but many under 40 will disagree. Salaries have completely stagnated, despite ever increasing house prices, inflation has hit across the board elsewhere, interest rates on mortgages are now huge which adds more pressure on huge mortgages, big debts from uni, higher tax…...
It’s not even just the youngsters. It’s us married types in our mid to late 30s and early 40s.
It costs too much, we can’t afford to lose one of the incomes, and we can’t afford to add another mouth to feed.
For me:
Igor looked very good today.
JPHV is back.
Estupinian was back and played very well, particularly first half.
Ayari showed again that he’s a Prem level midfielder.
Baleba being brilliant as always, aside from his one minute of madness following “the note” from the manager that had to’ve...
