[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

As it stands 93% of the population own a Smartphone, including practically universal ownership up to the age of 55 (source). Once a generation or so you have to draw a line with technology when it has reached.a certain stage of adoption and manage those who don't have it by exception and it is...

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

I don't imagine the club brought the scheme in with the intent of punishing fans who transfer tickets between relatives in the same tier but now the scheme is in place they have to be consistent. If you want to blame anyone blame fans who either didn't perform any due diligence when getting...

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

I understand the logic of people suggesting that if an away game isn't sold out or went to the lowest tier then the rules should be ignored but until the game is played you won't know how much in demand tickets would be.

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

Two issues are getting mixed up now. I believe that if you buy a Season Ticket it should be overwhelming be for your use but at the same time I think the club could make it easier to transfer it for free (or at least a low cost) two or three times a season. I have friends who have got tickers...

[Albion] 10-game ban and 50-loyalty point deduction

In this instance I have sympathy for the man because of what his son did but I agree with the club's stance on this. People jumping the queue and getting tickets from supporters who harvest the points actually makes away games more of a closed shop. Will take the club's word about anti-social...

[Drinking] Does beer improve your matchday experience?

If circumstances allow then I enjoy a drink before and/or after a match, especially at away games (although that has been curtailed somewhat by having to get coaches more this year). That said if I have to drive after the match or have an early start the morning after an evening game I am more...

[Albion] Are we back to pre-April Potter?

Broadly agree but it is far from definite that under Potter we would have broken down a Tottenham team with 11 men behind the ball and we did lose at Fulham with him. Funnily enough I would have fancied him to make the adjustments to keep hold of a two goal lead at Anfield. It is early days...

Main Coronavirus / Covid-19 Discussion Thread

Washing your hands regularly wouldn't be a bad idea but most sinks in public toilets are so bad you would probably pick something else up. Putting on a mask in public places if you have have a cold or cough would be good manners but shouldn't be compulsory.

    [Politics] Sam Tarry OUT

What happened was under the Corbyn the left of the party got a rule change through that made deselecting a sitting MP easier thinking it would lead to a load of moderate MPs losing their seats and the Parliamentary Labour Party. What actually happened is most local Labour parties are fairly...

I haven't received my ticket (brought by me for me) or an e-mail yet and the game is next week.

[Albion] new away fan ID/ticketing system

In fairness we haven't played in the 4th Tier in 21 years and the 3rd tier in 11 years so there is a generation or two of fans who haven't had need to go to a lot of lower league grounds (outside of the odd cup match). Last season I caught COVID the week before Watford away and e-mailed the...

You will have to take that up with the club.

[Albion] new away fan ID/ticketing system

Because everyone who normally goes to away games has had a chance to buy. If people had been getting tickets for friends and they didn't cause trouble the club probably wouldn't have done this. But they have so they did.

[Albion] new away fan ID/ticketing system

It also means those people are jumping the queue, which is unfair to people outside of Tier 1 who want to go. If you don't want to get tickets for friends when the club allow it then the only people losing out are you and your friends.

[Albion] new away fan ID/ticketing system

By the sound of it some people were getting tickets for others and not practicing due diligence or not caring who they ended up with, leading to a few people who shouldn't have been at games being arrested.

If they don't buy any away tickets then they will eventually stop being Tier 1.
