Really showing my age here, but I remember seeing them at The Goldstone. I think their goalkeeper Colin Tinsley was injured during the match, and he had to hobble on the wing, because the FA didn't allow substitutes until 1965 / 6. 0ne substitute for an injured player only, nothing tactical. Am...
Guilty as charged ! I have misunderstood this. I was under the impression that this affects the rental market. I assumed that the tenants would continue to pay council tax, and I'd also be billed for council tax for the property that I rent out.
Just wondered what you thought of this. I'm all in favour of filling empty homes that would otherwise lie empty. However, penalising people like myself that were sufficiently prudent to purchase the property that they live in, whilst retaining ownership of their original property ? I've never...
Dubious algorithms employed by facebook. I recently received an ad from CPFC, offering me the opportunity to view Palace matches ! Obviously I reported it as being offensive. I've also received ads for conservatories, despite the fact that I live in an upstairs flat. I've never owned a diesel...
I was going to post a thread declaring that I'm completely and utterly scared shitless by the prospect (almost inevitability) of a second Trump term. The Simon Brodkin Swastiki golf balls prank on YouTube is a classic, and is well worth revisiting in its entirety. I look forward to seeing Simon...
Saw Status Quo as support act 2 or 3 times at The Big Apple. You know what they say about familiarity ! Saw the Stones on 10 March 1971, as part of the ‘Sticky fingers’ tour. Yes played ‘Time and a word’ there on the Saturday. I saw the Kinks there, and countless other bands. They really were...
Time is not on our side. We are facing the prospect of a second Trump term, and complete strangulation of American support. Orban having the ability to stifle EU contributions, and Lukashenko, another puppet, who's strings are being controlled by Russia's great Tsar. I fear for Ukraine. Pot...
What a caring compassionate man Mick Whelan is, selflessly sticking up for workers rights, and doing everything in his power to ensure that his members don't have to rely upon food banks, because their salary is so derisory.
There was me thinking that he has no compassion or respect for anyone...
One or two of my friends saw him at The Dome. I'm sure that there were no other Stevie Wonder concert appearances in Brighton at the time. Incidentally, years ago I remember seeing a bootleg of The Dome concert advertised. The quality must have been abysmal. 'Higher ground' is my ringtone. After...
I only ever saw him once, and that was at the o2, in 2008. I think that was the concert that was released on DVD. 'Live at last', a Wonder summer's night. It was obviously very good, but the o2 is too big. I'd never go there again.
