I think the lowest I was part of was Bradford away, January 1989, but that was still a healthy 2 coaches. We had a police escort to the ground and they ushered us straight in, wouldn’t even let us see the Bradford fire memorial. Some guy approached me on the terraces with his handwritten list...

I was talking about this on a call with a colleague of mine who is originally from Sarajevo. She looked a bit blankly at me as I was telling her the tales of our fantastic gold medal in the Sarajevo games and then it dawned on me that she probably hadn’t even been born then!
