    [Other Sport] Aussie Rules Football

The Pies were so bloody efficient in beating the Dees today. they're such a momentum side, weirdly i think having a week off before their home prelim might work against them a bit - they need to play to get in a rolling rhythm and i can see them possibly coming a cropper. More so vs Brisbane in...

    [Albion] Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg

He's absolutely appalling. Talks the good talk, about attitude/hard work/cliche cliche cliche, but he's a classic pointy arms, shouting at others to cover up for his own deficiencies kind of player. Very pedestrian passer, 90% sideways and non progressive, good positional sense but a crap...

Ascension, who are bloody excellent too btw - very recommended for apple-based bevs

[Football] Things that annoy you about other clubs.

arsenal playing a rapist in midfield for the whole season, hoping to skip the subject of morals if it meant they won something. You can criticise Man City and Man Utd for many things, but they immediately stepped their players down when allegations came to light - whereas Arsenal are a...

    [Albion] Brighton & Hibs Albion

Yep, there's pages of Trainspotting hung up above the pissers, so you can have a read while having a slash. Great beer, nice food, magnificent whisky list, there's little not to like - they even had a cider from Polegate when i was in there!

    [Albion] Brighton & Hibs Albion

i was up in edinburgh last summer, and being a nosey type popped in to both grounds to have a look around - Tynecastle/Hearts i saw an open gate and headed in, i was having a look at the pitch and the stands and some officious security prick kicked me out, telling me i couldnt take any photos...

[Football] Did Arsenal bottle the league?

Its worth remembering that poor underfinanced underdogs arsenal have spent about twice what man city have in the past five seasons - net spend of £485m as opposed to City's considerably more modest £224m.

[Football] Did Arsenal bottle the league?

Of course they bottled it. Eight points clear a month and a bit ago, top since august basically, then it gets to the pointy bit of the season with some actual pressure and they comprehensively shat the bed. Again. Like they did last season. Then it was only a four point lead with three games...

[Albion] Is it now all about Spurs ?

I can say this as a Spurs fan - if you finish below this Spurs side, you're a shambles. Spurs wont get more than 2 points in the rest of the season. You'll comfortably finish above them, and deservedly so.

As much as the Pies are a bunch of knobheads, i also dislike Essendon and can take much pleasure in their downfall :D

    Best burger in Brighton

for me, its the dead hippie burger at MEATliquor. absolutely exemplary. Five guys are good, Grubbs is good, Uncle Sam's is decent, but MEATliquor is the zenith.

I used to work in a city centre pub in Melbourne many, many years ago and we had a jukebox with all the club songs on - so i got huuugely familiar with the big Melbourne clubs, and used to annoy the locals by putting on the (dreadful) Freo tune  Its a different crowd experience without a...

    [Other Sport] Aussie Rules Football

To be fair, there's a few absolute bangers in those anthems - there isnt a soul alive unmoved by Tigerland, YELLOW AND BLACK! and Carlton's jaunty little number is decent too, of the old skool ones. Brisbane using la Marsellaise is inspired. I presumed that all the relatively new clubs had a...

    [Other Sport] Aussie Rules Football

Its been a great few years for teams overcoming big hoodoos- Richmond, melbourne and the doggies have all got their respective monkeys off their backs, which i find quite inspiring as a Freo fan. I agree that we are probably quite a lot of people's second team: cos we're interstate, not really...

    [Other Sport] Aussie Rules Football

Im a Fremantle Dockers fan - the mighty Freo! I came through the Trans-world sport route as well, sunday mornings as a kid spent watching this insane sport from australia with tiny shorts and extravagant taches in the late eighties, and when i went over for a year in 1999 i got right into the...

[Football] Celtic in the EPL, how would they do with their current team?

Slightly off topic but interesting nonetheless - adjusting for population, Scottish football is the best attended in europe. It must be the kebab pies dragging people in! (i bloody love the highland league myself, Clachnacuddin, Nairn, Strathspey are all absolutely lovely places to watch...

[Football] Women's Euros tickets to watch female women play women's football

England v Norway tickets and quarter final possibly involving England also obtained, 4 x tickets for both: i've just emailed the club and they stated that UEFA are in control of stadium, parking etc, and no details have been confirmed yet. Going to have to drive because im taking kids, which ive...

    Australian Rules Football.

Them's fighting words, sunshine  Followed em since 99, seen em a good 15 times, and we only lost the first one! I'm a good luck charm . . .

    Australian Rules Football.

The mighty Freo - purple heroes, one and all. A magnificent sport, second only to Football, of course. It's an annual tradition to have a few mates together for the grand final at the end of September, cracking open the beers at 5:30am - and generally back in bed asleep at 1pm :p
