Nice to see some measured, empathetic comments on here. "There but for the grace of god", and all that. I wince at the dismissive 'dirty northern shithole' type of comment you occasionally get. Thanks everyone.
Can’t stand all this pointless speculation about a non-existent managerial vacancy at Brighton. When the vacancy eventually arises, the decision on replacement will be nothing to do with the fans. Why not just enjoy the ride for now?
I’m resigned to missing out on the away leg as I’m away on holiday and arriving back at LGW on the 6th ie day before. Even if I could get a ticket (far from likely) the thought of immediately getting onto another plane after a long flight, towing a suitcase full of dirty washing, doesn’t appeal.
I’d be very pleased with 7th and astonished by anything higher. I'm a very positive person usually but I’m finding it hard to imagine us making up a lot of ground. We have a lot of tough home games to come — City, Arsenal, Villa, ManU, the improving Chelsea etc. Combined with a return to RDZ's...
Agree totally. I’m also addicted to Spelling Bee but that’s another story. Yes, Wordle crackers are a thing. When I did some googling to find an anagram solver a few weeks ago, I noticed several references to 'Wordle solvers' and similar. Seems totally pointless.
I wonder if we’ll see Barco before the end of the season, and what impact he’ll have. That could make a difference. But the real issue is the number of points dropped at home against teams at the bottom. We could easily have had 6 more points than we have.
Sorry, didn’t do the 1-11. Seems a bit...
Phew, I was expecting an early setback. Good that we’re still level pegging after a dramatic first leg.
I came last in the previous competition and wondered why. When I thought about it, I realised that a new Wordle player (as I was) was at a big disadvantage because they had no prior knowledge...
I think the bloke is trying to warn people about travel issues for the match. Seems reasonable to me? Not sure what today's result has to do with it! Commiserations to anyone who has to put up with public transport for matches.
It seems right that averages come down as more and more solutions are used up and become no longer valid. Made up example -- at the very start of the Wordle epoch, there may have been 10 possible words that start with STA but now there are, say, only 5. This greatly reduces the number of...
And nor do I! Yes, looks like the same starter word. I've been mixing them up recently but that one's an old standby. Bad luck in the competition. Fine margins, and all that.
I was quite taken aback to find fried banana served with my fry-up in Ireland a few years ago. Can’t recall if this was a BnB in the Republic or Northern Ireland as we were in both. It actually worked quite well.
OK fair enough. I was at the open training on Friday when he was wandering round with his Afcon medal, beaming from ear to ear (deservedly) but not taking part in the training. i was assured by the football experts next to me (two 10 year old boys) that this meant he’d not be playing Sunday.
is there some bit of news I’ve missed here, or are people squabbling over a totally non-existent, random proposal from Barcelona that someone’s pulled out of their arse? The tendency for football fans to dream up elaborate scenarios just to have an argument is exactly what Talk Sport taps into.
