Hi mate. My thoughts are just my thoughts: I'm not advocating a 'walk away' campaign in the slightest, that would be ridiculous. I'm incredibly proud of what we have achieved and the legacy it hands on to people a quarter our age who have a completely different concept of what it means to be an...
Booing? Certainly. I have always loathed Chelsea anyway, and am sickened beyond belief by the whole episode. But it is the logical result of the way modern football operates. Everyone's feelings about it will obviously be different. These are mine: two posts on my Facebook page over the last...
It is all completely, utterly ridiculous - like the away ticket ID business, the ridiculous fees and bureaucracy to share season tickets and the patronising, selective and nonsensical way we football fans are treated compared to fans of other sports. Dick got annoyed about it, don't blame him...
Cheers everyone. 65 and not in any way retiring as those who know me well are aware :) It has been an incredible privilege (and a lot of hard work!) to earn my living for 40 years from the words and music I'd have done as a hobby anyway. And I echo Lenny/Ian's words absolutely - the Albion, and...
From my 2015 autobiog, then and now, read if you're interested :)
Glastonbury had started in 1970 with an attendance of 1,500: 1983 was the seventh, and the numbers of punters attending had rocketed to 30,000, but the original hippy vibe was completely intact. Everything I had heard appeared to...
Clearing out a load of old poetry files I came across this.
I wrote it for the presentation evening Albion Roar (I think) did for Calde years ago.
I thought some of you might like to read it and raise one more glass to remember a great Albion servant.
Calde, Borrokalaria lagurnarteko
Calde...
Please, someone brilliant and totally outside the mainstream whom only stats nerds and the Albion recruiting team have ever heard of.
That's the Albion way now.
Still got great links with a Wrexham fans' group and do a gig every couple of years for them in their local, Saith Seren. Really great bunch and still hugely appreciative of the support we gave them. I was gobsmacked by this but it seems to be working out for them and most are pleased (although...
I must say that when I first head his name these were the first things that came to mind.
Ant like Dr Who enemies that weren't scary at all. I wanted one as a pet aged about 7.

He's clever, and this is what a clever bloke would say. Cuts no ice with me, especially with him taking the backroom staff as well. I though he was different, he's not, it's modern football, I'll carry on simultaneously loathing it and loving the Albion, cognitive dissonance city but I can...
And neither will Chelsea. We could certainly challenge for a European place and a cup: that is entirely realistic. I think it is very likely that we still will. Depends on recruitment, and our track record in that regard is awesome in recent years.
I don’t think I am wearing rose tinted spectacles when I say that with the set up we have now/had now, and the Bloom backing, we are/were in a position to challenge for those trophies ourselves.
Graham Potter’s plastic
He wears a plastic hat
When Chelsea offered a fat wad
He said ‘I’m having that’
But Chelsea are not Brighton
No culture and no class
Just loadsandloadsamoney
He’ll fall flat on his arse
:)
.
Yesterday I weighed up two responses to Chelsea taking Potter and our entire back room staff. I posted one, but am now sharing the other.
That was to smile with pride at where our long fight to save our club has brought us, give my season ticket to my stepson as a pre Xmas present (he’s...
I must say I’m surprised. Potter is a very clever man with a huge understanding of sports psychology and exchanging the calm onward trajectory of the Albion for the ghastly bearpit of Chelsea is an unlikely choice for me, even given the extra rewards.
The ‘top six’ will be a different and...
OK I don't follow SCCC like the Albion, but I do care. My stepfather's ashes are buried in the outfield!
The catastrophic recruitment/sacking policy and the ludicrous amount of injuries sustained by players suggests to me that the entire operation is being run by people who haven't got a clue...
No we didn't. The players and management of the old Southwick FC kept the old club going after the ground was closed in 2019, firstly on Southwick Rec last season, winning the Mid Sussex Championship with a 100% record, then at Whitehawk whose chairman agreed a very fair ground share deal with...
