Ha, I stand corrected, and "had" sounds much better indeed :)
Yeah, I believe Swedes in general speak English pretty well. Not because the education is better than in other European countries, even though most Swedes like to think so, but simply because we use subtitles for TV shows and films...
I did not get a chance to answer here yesterday, but thank you all so much for your replies, seems there's hope for Christmas yet! For some reason my wife took issue with all my gift shopping taking place in the Amex gift shop last time around, go figure :)
"Busman's holiday" was a new phrase...
Hi. I'm headed to Brighton for my second ever visit to the Amex this weekend. I'm thinking to do some Christmas shopping in far-away exotic England, and I'm just curious how open shops are in the city centre on a Sunday? Business as usual or lanes filled with tumbleweed?
Also, if anyone's...
I don't really get the joy some are feeling here when other English teams lose... The more PL teams having to play two games a week for as long as possible, the better for us, surely? I'd rather see them lose the final.
Edit: Ok, it was a draw for the Saudis yesterday, but still.
These might be the most negative commentators I’ve ever heard! (not you guys, but the grumpypants on Premier 4).
Has anyone done anything right this game, besides Ferguson’s goal?
Alright, that helps calm me down a bit, cheers! I arrive late on Friday and leave early Monday, so as long as it sticks to Saturday or Sunday I'm good. And considering the Brentford game before and Marseille after, I'm guessing a Friday night kick-off is very unlikely.
Fingers crossed.
Sorry if I’m hijacking this thread with an unrelated question, but it seems there’s a few of you here who are extremely on top of things.
I just bought flights on sale for the Burnley game on December 9th. Is there anything so far indicating that game might get moved? And if so, what should I...
Fati was coming back from an offside position, wasn't he? I have to look at it again, but when it happened my reaction was "Oh, what a pro that Welbeck, that didn't fall for the temptation to pass offside Ansu."
Didn't think I would care much tonight, but with Chelsea on the other side of the pitch I find myself shouting at the telly. Scrappy game, but like some have mentioned, lovely to see Lamptey almost looking like Lamptey again.
In other news, Liverpool down one to Leicester and Everton one up...
As a 6-year old my footballing career came to an end when I slipped and managed to hit a penalty straight to a throw in. You’re not very popular among the other kids when that happens, believe me. 😁
As much as I love Gross, which is plenty, I'd like to see Gilmour get a run of games where he's in charge of the set pieces. Even though they didn't result in anything on Sunday, I felt like there were fewer completely fluffed ones and a couple were really classy.
Yes, yes, I know, you can...
Stressed, stressed, stressed, you can tell there are nerves involved tonight. Gone is the patient build up from the back, choosing the wrong passes just to get it forward (or are they more hesitant to pass the ball back to Igor than Dunk?). A proper big-ballz speech from de Zerbi in half time...
I'm hoping this won't come back to bite me in the ass, but considering the quality of the sides the teams in our group play every week, I'm fully confident that Brighton will be the better team in all of our six group matches – especially since neither of our opponents ever play with low...
You should probably disregard me right now, because I’m so tipsy turvy I just sang a Bon Jobi song karaoke, but I managed to get a whole Lithuanian bar to celebrate Albion’s victory by buying everyone a shot of absinthe, and everything is fuzzy and beautiful and insubstantial right now, but what...
Bummer about March, but excited to see if Adingra really is as good as he looked in preseason. And all fingers and toes crossed for Lamptey to come in and silence the doubters (I’ve been one of them on occasion) as well.
Not sure if it has been mentioned in this thread, but if you have Amazon Prime Video, and absolutely nothing better to do one evening, there’s the Barca mini documentary series “Barcelona: The new era”.
It focuses heavily on the switch from Koeman to Xavi, and I can’t in all honesty say that...
