I do wonder about this. At which point does the Amex be seen as out of date. I am struggling to think of many grounds with no safe standing now. It's a strange one. Even Bournemouth have it ffs. I don't think the "can't afford it" line stacks up
I think that's the most disappointing thing. The second half of last season we played so many games where we didn't look like scoring a goal.
Today, with £70m of new attackers on show, a full complement of wingers....we still didn't look like scoring a goal. And we didn't do anything...
Incredible how bad the food options are at the Amex, especially in such a great city of food choice.
Staff were crap today but it's always like this at beginning of the season and gets better when the students are in and the new starters know what they are doing
Everyone in an attacking position was bad today. In the second half their keeper barely touched the ball. Mitoma and Minteh were stand out poor, but Rutter, Welbeck and later Enciso and Adingra were not far behind.
Embarrassing set pieces really. Was expecting a bit more considering there was a bit of hype about Hurzeler and dead balls. But no, Welbeck and Dunk on free kicks. Shite.
Disappointing starters.
Disappointing subs
Disappointing from the manager.
So predictable. I would say we've seen it all before but usually we at least test the goalie on the second half attacking the North goal
Very disappointing waste of a sunny afternoon.
f*** that. You don't mess with a tradition like that imho.
Sounded loud and then the place was like a morgue anyway. So it didn't lift the crowd at all.
Never again for me.
Aside from that banner, my main memory of Ipswich is watching them play about 5 up front on the last day of the season in a dead rubber for them at Withdean, while we needed point to stay up after all the other results that had turned against us in the space of about 10 mins after half time...
I don't believe the Ferdi thing was deliberate, i suspect he was genuinely injured, otherwise we'd have wanted the pacey option in the squad for Arsenal. As it turned out, didn't matter at all.
Quite excited for the new season really. I know it's been a similar story for the last couple of years but recruitment generally looks good, and the new coach quite interesting. As long as they can cope without Terland it should be a fun year.
Saw some idiot on twitter moaning about £70 seagulls travel for this game and i realised how out of touch people are with the cost of things these days.
