[Albion] The Goldstone Ground - model

Absolutely, 100% agree. Atmospheric the Amex certainly isn't.

[Albion] The Goldstone Ground - model

Not always a dump! Yes it was crumbling away in it's latter years, but it wasn't always thus. The Amex of course is better in almost every respect, except . . . for atmosphere. I just loved the pld place.

[Albion] Surely we must have some decent free kick takers in this squad?

As much as l like Dunky, my heart sinks every time he lines up a free kick just outside the area.

[Football] The Non-League Football Thread- 2024/25 Edition

Well at least the Dockers seem to have put up a bit of a fight. Don't get me wrong l have a lot of time for Martin Garry and Newhaven, but YM are getting a bit fed up with playing you now, three times already, and the season is till only a few weeks old! Talking of the FA Vase, Horsham YMCA...

    [Albion] Catering

Not sure l agree with your comments, (when it comes to the wonderful Piglets pies), but love your choice of words, "microwaved meat, and oily 16 year olds"!

    [Albion] Catering

Oh Piglets vegan Bombay P;otato pies l could die for! I tried to order some from Piglets during the summer, but not possible, they only make them for sale at the Amex apparantly, and even then only for certain periods of the season.

[Albion] We need a settled defensive unit

Yep l understnd your reasoning. Personally as far as individual players are concerned, l would probably put Ferdi in at right back as he will be more inclined to play as wing back and get forward if necessary.

    [Albion] Jakub Moder

Beggars belief that he is still making the starting line up to be honest, especially with all our new talent available. Sorry but he has never really fulfilled his early potential for me.

    [Football] Albion returning to Withdean

Please don't go naked, at the very least wear your old poncho. Visited three or four times with Horsham YMCA when they have played Varndeanians at Withdean. Be prepared to come away disappointed at the sorry state of the place, it's looking very run down and in need of a lot of tlc.

Hmmm l bet they didn't move Uncle Tony's memorial tile.

    Military Aircraft

Just got home from the Amex yesterday evening, when l heard the unmistaken sound of a Merlin engine in the distance, sure enough within a minute or two a Spitfire, wearing D-Day markings swooped low overhead, it did a couple of circuits of the village before disappearing into the ether. I'm...

[Travel] The Trials & Tribulations of the New Stagecoach 17 Timetable

Some of you l'll wager will already be aware of this, but my local bus route announced an "improved" timetable on 1st September. Rather than having an easy to understand hourly timetable, Monday to Saturday daytime, from Brighton to Horsham and vice versa, Stagecoach have decided to over...

[Travel] Seaford to Lewes trains replaced by buses for Ipswich game

Lengthening the platforms, if indeed it's possible, is going to be an expensive operation, and how many times a year is it going to be needed? Not enough to make it viable from the railway companies perspective l fancy. Unless the club are willing to finance it?
