From NSC Strava Club, looks like three of us did it yesterday.
Its billed as 'the tough one' and so it proved for me. First time I have done an off road, hilly marathon so a bit of learning exercise. Started off well, through Cissbury and out and back to Devils Dyke, walking up Truleigh as I'd...
This - the best - desperate to do it again but will be away again this year for Warsaw marathon.
Best real winter races are Downland Devil and Mince Pie - not quite half marathon distance but as hard.
Good Luck soistes on Sunday. One of the best bits of advice on London came from dazzer6666 - take time to look up at all those amazing London landmarks.
There’s about 15 Rogue Runners taking part of you are looking for friendly faces.
Anyone else taking part?
Got my 12 miles in this morning down at beautiful Bolton Abbey. Felt a bit of a slog but I’m putting this down to having done a lot of walking and cycling, along with yesterday’s parkrun, this week in Yawkshire.
Two weeks to go, getting excited!
Three Forts half is a nice one to do post marathon, otherwise it’s a bit of a lean period until autumn now and Barns Green.
I did Cliffe Castle parkrun in Keighley today, near the mother in laws. Nice course around a very pretty park - started off with a long downhill and,as you knew it would...
Most likely explanation...
On the App you should see ‘Gun Time’ and ‘Chip Time’ (Just under the finish time). Gun Time starts from when the starter says ‘Go’, Chip Time starts from when the runner crosses the start line and so of course is the real time run. Chip Time will always be less or...
Well done for persevering through the Cto5k and then moving on to this - great achievement.
Having watched the full course of marathon runners on Sunday, from the winner to the last stragglers, it struck me that for many of the slowest marathon runners the achievement is actually the greatest...
Well done everyone today. It was really tough out there in that wind. Mrs Simgull was in the medical tent and told me there were a lot of people suffering from hypothermia.
I enjoyed a long day of marshalling- starting around 7 with the bike race - quite terrifying at times to get dozy early...
Was so pissed off this afternoon, on the way home, i dropped into the event village and signed up for next year to cheer myself up. 372 days to go, we have scored a goal by then.
Good Luck Everyone!
Got to admit to have been feeling slightly envious over the last couple of days, oh well maybe next year.
My advice, for what it's worth, is don't put any pressure on yourselves, instead go out and enjoy it - that way you'll run a better race too. Take time to look at the...
Just went for a wander along Hove Prom. All the barriers are going up. Lots of runners looking like they are doing their last few miles. It’s getting EXCITING!
Weather looks good to me. Ok slight easterly will be a pain for last three miles but you’ll be sheltered by the crowds for the full length of the Prom. Far worse would be too hot (as in 2017), strong winds or rain which would reduce the support massively. Cold isnt a problem - it was snowing...
