I’ll be at Hove Park - got something on mid-morning so need to be able to get home sharpish, otherwise would certainly have gone somewhere else this week.
Ventured west to Bognor this morning to tick off another Sussex parkrun. Nice park, course a little twisty and turny but very flat. Finished 15th in 21:47. First person home was a certain G Godden!
On an empty air conditioned train from Portslade to Victoria - so far so good (tempting fate)
Going to the 20/20 at the Oval after work so hopefully (if I survive that) trains will have recovered by later this evening!
Gave Uckfield a go this morning- thought it might be a mud bath after the rain last night but was just a bit squelchy in places. Nice course - but different to have an off road out and back. 22:54 and 19th place was good after 15 miles on the Downs yesterday evening.
I got to meet Dame Kelly a couple of months ago - in person she was every bit as open, enthusiastic and generous as she appeared in the programme last night. Great programme and great to feel that all of us are part of the parkrun story.
Killerton parkrun this morning - near Exeter - what a stunning course probably moves about Fountains Abbey as favourite one I’ve run. National Trust property and run through fields, woods and farmland - and best of all you finish about 50m lower than where you start! If you’re in Devon give this...
44:21 official for me. Very happy and actually quite enjoyed a 10k for once. Most pleasing was the consistency as shown below...and managing to finish strongly. Great catch up in The Brunswick afterwards too.
Enjoyed a lovely run in the cooler conditions this morning- Lewes- Old Racecourse- Blackcap-Beacon- Chatri-Hove Park for just over 13 miles with 380m of climbing.
Looking forward to Wednesday - is all this talk of salted nuts going to tempt Greg Bobkin into an appearance?
It’s narrow and congested at the start so get near the front. Free parking virtually opposite the start is good and the cafe afterwards is in a superb spot - will be lovely tomorrow.
I’m off the Preston Park - not been for a long time - celebrating a friend’s 250th parkrun.
I think it was Danny Baker who said he hoped one day there would be a UEFA cup draw which produced Barry vs Keith.
Also there is I believe an Aldrington Stanley who play/played at Wish Park?
